https://twitter.com/GHOSTBOXING Robert Guerrero labels himself as a "6 time World Champion" on his twitter page. Thoughts? :think
Marketing, its people like him who ruin the "mystique" of boxing. But hey if you need the money, you gotta do what you gotta do.
????????????????????????????? Are you blaming Guerrero for the fact that BOXING is broken? Hes a good man, back off.
Not really, just saying fighters shouldn't advertise things that arn't "legitimate". If he changed it to "6 Time World TITLIST" I wouldn't have problem. Guerrero is a good dude, no denying that.
Septemer 2006 - Beats Erik Aiken to claim IBF Featherweight title November 2006 - Loses IBF belt to Orlando Salido. Bout declared No Contest due to steroids Febuary 2007 - Wins Vacant IBF Featherweight belt against Spend Abazi October 2009 - Beats Malcom Klassen for IBF Superfeatherweight belt Hasnt won a single world title since unless of course you count : April 2011 - Beats Michael Katsidis for Interim WBA/WBO lightweight titles July 2012 - Beats Selcuk Aydin for Interim WBC title Even then thats only 5 unless hes counting the WBA/WBO as 2 times Hes a 2 time Featherweight champion and a 2 weight world champion but never won anything significant at the higherweights Juan Manuel Marquez was the WBA/WBO lightweight champion at that time (Miguel Acosta picking up the regular version) The WBC welterweight belt is still vacant (of Floyd still has it im not sure) with Josesito Lopez picking up the silver version Hes trying to make himself look better than he actually is
Bit harsh He beat Eric Aiken for the belt before losing it to Orlando Salido (Who tested positive for steroids) then instead of the belt being given back to him he fought for the vacant belt against Spend Abazi (35-1) defending it twice more against Martin Honorio and Jason Litzau who had a combined record of 47 - 4 - 1 (39 ko) before vacating. that was a decent run that spanded 5 fights in a little over a year. He picked up the superfeatherweight belt too but never defended it choosing to move up in weight instead against a few noticeable names Joel Casamayor, Michael Katsidis and Vicente Escobedo
it's a ****ing joke that this guy can claim this! he hasn't beaten 1 A level fighter let a lone a decent champion. His best win is a shot Katsidis or Escobedo who Broner just toyed with.
