On the 4th of May, Robert Guerrero tries his hand at Floyd Mayweather Jr, but unlike all before, will Guerrero be able to change the routine and cause the upset? Will he be the catalyst?

This is a fight many are looking forward to, but a fight that many aren't. Lots of predictions are flying about as the fight edges closer by the day.

I actually think this fight is an intriguing fight. But it depends on a few variables. If, buts and maybes on Guerrero's part.

A lot of people don't rate "The Ghost" but I actually think he is a very good fighter, but if he comes in like he did against Berto, when he started letting him back into the fight, Mayweather is on another level, and he will finish Guerrero when he feels like it.

However, if Guerrero comes in smart and not head-first looking to get on the inside, boxes smartly, I actually think he can beat Mayweather over 12 rounds, the southpaw stance will help along with rangey outside to inside punches and lateral movement.

Guerrero cannot stand still or charge in as he did against Berto. Mayweather will destroy and chop him up on the inside, Mayweather is another level on the inside and will be the first one to encourage that sort of fight from Guerrero, that fight is his home, its where he thrives. Back against the ropes or walking you down. However which way you want it. Mayweather is the master of the craft.

Guerrero must not fall into the trap like all before, he has got to fight his own fight, a clever fight, and not the fight Mayweather craves for.

Guerrero needs fight Mayweather similar to the early rounds against Berto. Where he stunned him with rangey punches and unpredictable movement. The moment Guerrero started wanting an inside fight, a blind Berto started landing solid shots.

Mayweather will finish the job, if Guerrero comes in like that and drops back down to that level. Guerrero shouldn't be going in looking to take his head of, because he wont hit it. Like all have tried before him.

He needs to be ice-cold calm and strictly disciplined over 12 rounds and fight his natural fight. If he does it, he can challenge Mayweather like no other has done before.

But lets be honest, we've said this for a lot of fights, but they all seem to fall into the Mayweather trap, some get a bit further, but ultimately end up in the spiders web.

Shane Mosley got to Mayweather and that is the sort of punches Guerrero needs to look to land. But after success, he must not backoff or go into a shell, Mayweather will walk him down and finish the fight, but equally so if Guerrero comes in for a tear up, Mayweather will finish it on the inside.

A very interesting fight and one I am very much looking forward to.

My question to you is, if you think Guerrero can win this fight, then how does he do it? Where does he get the success?

A resounding no. Floyd's ageing and is no longer unbeatable but Guerrero hasn't got the style to beat him. Floyd to win every round in a whitewash.

Guerrero is one of those grafter types. He can do lots of things, but nothing particularly well. Mayweather, on the other hand, can do pretty much everything well. So Guerrero will get outboxed at range, he'll get caught coming in, and even if he can force Floyd to the ropes, he'll get taken apart with short uppercuts and hooks.

It'll either be a very wide decision or Floyd will take him out. I suspect it'll be a snoozer too.

His 30 day weigh in was 159lbs, he's going to struggle to make the weight let alone win the fight at this rate!

You reckon? I reckon it'll be a good fight for however long it lasts for.

I can just see Guerrero charging in and Mayweather chuckling to himself. He will end the fight, Guerrero fell straight into the trap.

The moment Guerrero and Mayweather came face to face with shirts of, Guerrero was already begging for a toe to toe fight.

    What an idiot.

    I hope he is bluffing.....

Mayweather will be rubbing his hands.

He'll make weight fine, Bradley weighed near that against Provodnikov and Rios and Alvarado weighed close to that as well. He won't have a problem there.

As for the actual fight, he has no chance IMO. Floyd could take him out late on if he put it on him but I'd say a wide points win is more likely.

I doubt it, Floyd can be beaten now but Guerrero isn't the one to do it.

The winner of Canelo/Trout has a better shot.

God has put Guerreo on this earth to humble Floyd.

    Apparently

I think Guerrero can make it an interesting night as well and I wouldn't be surprised if there was an upset but he's gotta keep his head and box clever, pressure Floyd and keep up a fast workrate. He could outwork Floyd.

Guerrero, by and large, has made for boring fights. I enjoyed him beating Berto, but mostly because I can't stand Berto.

A toe to toe battle gives Robert his best shot, which is still next to nothing. He's not fast enough, powerful enough, or big enough to beat Floyd.

This a myth about Floyd. He can work if he has to, he has done. What he's expert at is punishing his opponents for every mistake and being so accurate when he does that they throw less.

We'll just have to wait and see.
