Yep, that's what the press release says. According to that, The Ghost had trouble making weight in his last two fights and now officially vacates the IBF FW championship to move up and compete at 130.

Interesting news and sadly KOs the possibility of a Guerrero-Linares unification (for the moment). Of course a mandatory fight waited for him for later this year vs. Orlando Salido who's already beat The Ghost but failed to post-fight drug test. Despite clearing his name with another test the very next day, he was stripped so Guerrero could fight for the vacant belt. Unfortunately with Robert moving up the rematch is KOd... Smart move IMO...

What do you think of Guerrero's chances at 130?

I believe him when he says that he had trouble making weight. Six feet tall is huge for a featherweight!

I have mixed feeling about how successful he'll be moving up to 130 and 135. The divisions are more talented, and it'll be tougher for him to grind down bigger fighters like he was able to at 126. In any case, he seems like a nice guy and I hope he does well.

He's going to be a beast at 130. IMO
Maybe Salido follows him to 130 and they can settle it.
(The Litzau Fight is on repeat 24/7 in my rotation)

well, 130 is open for the taking so it could be a smart move.

A Guerrero/Soto match will be a barn burner, 2 hard chinned, heavy fisted guys who only know how to fight moving forwards, hope it can somehow happen.

I was never really that keen on seeing Guerrero v. Linares. Although we still might see flaws in his game that we haven't previously, I think Linares would be way too sharp and accurate for The Ghost and chop him up, on his way to a late stoppage. The Ghost does have subtleties to his game, but I think he tends to slug it out a little too much and gets hit plenty. That would definitely be to his detriment against the elite featherweights and junior lightweights.

I'm not implying anything. I only wanted to see those fights get made.

Guerrero does have very subtle things to his game. And Linares acts like a sleeper within that ring when really he can really throw down. I think the fight would have been very rugged and very entertaining. Thats why I wanted to see it.

That's complete bull****. Guerrero is 25 and is damn near 5 '9. He's been fighting at 126 since he was 18. He's clearly grown out of that division. I don't even think Gamboa has made it a definite that he's dropping to 126. And if he does, it won't be long until he's back at 130. Guerrero is a warrior. He's not the type of guy to run from a challenge. He's especially not going to run away from a guy who he would beat.
