Well he did have some legitimate wins so I can see it. If you look at the field there isnt that much competition.

Donaire- Let's face it. His wins were not that impressive. He struggled with 3 of the 4. IMO with the level of fighters he faced he should have stopped all of them. Mathebula is just horrible, Vasquez has shaky whiskers but the most solid win for him of the year, Narvaez was too busy getting ready to work for Santa's gift factory and Arce is just shot.

JMM-Senchenko was undefeated but was not really anyone special. Pac was a huge win along with the ending so that gives him a shot at it even though normally should not be enough to clinch it.

Ward- awesome destruction of DAwson but it is just one fight after all. Definitely not enough.

Garcia- He faced a faded Morales twice. Very close fight the first time around and then beats Khan with a lucky punch.

Can't really think of anyone else. It really is a toss up between those.

No clear number 1 in my opinion.

Agreed. Lara/Martirosyan rematch would be nice too. That's probably asking for too much on one card nowadays though...

Everyone who he is to face has either lost or is not ready for him. I have no problem with this fight now.

Martinez-PBF at 154 though is a dream fight which could be made but we all know PBF dont want none.
