How is a pudding like Kownacki, who takes a load of punches in every bout, supposed to do that against a 2m tall Helenius who has already proven that he can smash him up? The only way Kownacki wins is if he is able to end it relatively early. There's no way either of these two are going 12 rounds. They are both too easy to hit.
So I've noticed. Adamek, The Polish Highlander, had the same problem. Golota as well. But Usyk is a welcome change from that way of fighting.
All Adam needs to do is play it safe for 4 or 5 rounds, jab a little, keep his hands up, cautiously walking him down at a distance, Helenius will gas, and get KTFO as usual. It's an easy adjustment to make.
The problem with Kownacki is his defense is his face. As we saw against Helnius, that will not work well in the long run. Hopefully the guy went back to the gym and learned a little defense but I doubt it. He will probably blame coming in too light or eating a healthy diet or something. I think his fight with the Nordic dude is a pickem fight but even if he wins, Kownacki is a snack for the top guys in the division.
Not really true. Adamek had decent defense. Golota at his best was decent as well. I said decent. Not the greatest. Nobody is going to confuse these guys with Pernel Whitaker. Kownacki is not decent. His defense is essentially non-existant. What defense he has consists of turing his opponents out by using his face as a heavy bag. Both Golota and Adamek had decent, well rounded boxing skills. I would not say that's true of Kownacki.
I'll go with this also. Only caveat is what does Kownacki weigh in at? Guys like him and Andy Ruiz can lose a fight they should win at the weigh in.
