Big right hands by Braekhus, bashing Kupihea through her guard and driving her back. 1-2 to the body by Braekhus bending in and reaching low. Kupihea leaps in with a lunging left lead and then scurries back out. Right to the body by Braekhus. Clinch. Jabs and crosses by Braekhus coming forward, and when Kuphiea tries to flurry she just holds her left arm out straight to hold her off like a chlid.

Round 4

Kupihea is banging away with the left hand lead, just hitting the arms as Braekhus takes a bit of a rest just bobbing on her toes and letting Kupihea come to her - maybe waiting to spring a big counter punch. Now Kupihea is spun to the ropes and worked over with the 1-2. Left hand to the guard and a right hook to the body by Kupihea. Lunging left hand is blocked and she is pushed off-path by the head as Braekhus reaches out and guides her with an open palm.

Round 5

Lefts soaring up by Kupihea but not getting a clean piece of Braekhus' head. Clinch. Braekhus jabs with her left, mostly using it to parry Kupihea's pawing right jabs. Head clash as they come together, with Kupihea unintentionally initiating by bowing her head while slugging her way in blind with the left over the top. Braekhus is using good footwork to always be in position to pick Kupihea off with left jabs. SOLID right to the gut by Braekhus. Combo pushing Kupihea to the ropes. Kupihea loops a left up over the top and grazes Braekhus at the base of her braids. Backward and lateral steps by Braekhus, setting up to jab. Good 1-2 by Braekhus. Clinch. Clubbing right hands over the top in side by Braekhus.

Round 6

Braekhus flurries her way in with straight flicks but gets caught with a solid right hook to the face. Hard rights by Braekhus coming forward, working patiently and firing only when Kupihea lowers her guard. Kupihea is pushed to the ropes and consistently backed up. Southpaw 1-2 up high by Kupihea. Braekhus ducks it and plugs her with body shots. Lead left by Kupihea diving in. Clinch.

McKenzie's broadcast partner (who is that?) wanted to give that round to Kupihea. Duke set him straight quick "Erm, no. Still the champ". :yep

 

Round 7

Big right hand by Braekhus. Left hook to the body while working in on Kupihea against the ropes. Clinch and head clash. Kupihea slides off the ropes and waves her right arm up and down, held vertically to bat away incoming left jabs. Kupihea is dancing around now, up on her toes and circling wide and fishing with some half-hearted body shots. Braekhus comes forward, not rushing but just slowly cutting off Kupihea's angles of movement and lining her up with jabs. 1-2 by Kupihea blocked. Lunging lead left gets Braekhus to step back but misses. Solid right hand by Braekhus, well timed. Another right. Clinch.
