I noticed at the weigh-in that Gammer was heavier than usual...and I felt he shouldn't have actually come back anyway, so I wondered if he'd actually have the same drive. Thanks for the video because I hadn't seen it, but both the outcome and the performance were not a shock to me. He needs to retire. I said it loudly at the time, I said it after he got thumped by Danny Williams, so I might as well air it one last time - turning down the fight with Audley Harrison was the stupidest decision of his career. I know why he did it - after a couple years of Audley snubbing him, when Gammer was in a better position he took great personal pleasure in playing the Big I Am game in turn, but he should've taken the fight. Mainstream tv coverage, a good payday and a fight I'm certain he could've won. Even if his career had been the same after that he'd have gained those things. He didn't, and that's how one single decision can totally alter your career.
Pretty poor from Gammer. He has now retired. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8075988.stm
And I'd call that the smartest decision of his career, as it turned out. He's got a family waiting for him, he doesn't need to get thumped in the head any more.
I honestly think he should have had part of his purse taken away for that performance. There is absolutely no way that he couldn't have gotten up when he got counted out.
Future superheavyweight boxing...Helenius, Price, Fury. Helenius and Fury are already sparred together in Berlin
Helenius didnt look that great, decent jab but nothing else and his body shots looked slappy at times The last knockdown was odd decent straight right gammer takes it moves a little but then turns his shoulders and goes down
I think both Brits are better. Price got a nice arsenal but is unfortunately chinny. If he can take it Fury is the best of them but they won't win a world title.
Ive been more impressed with Fury but hard to tell how good RH is off one fight. Gammer would have been a decent test but i dont think his heart was in it. Fury puts his punches together nicely, moves OK for such a big guy, uses the jab well a plenty of time for *****s to appear tho will be interesting if Helenius and Fury go at it in the pros. RH has a few KO's on his record it would be a decent scrap
Really?I wonder who got the better of it...Fury should but i heard this Helenius guy has some real skills...
Helenius do not have chin problems at all..vice versa.Stamina maybe... Helenius and Price are meet in amateurs "-2005" and Helenius was winner by points. I think they are some day very top in the league
I don't know..i'm not hear any news or rumours how their sparring has gone Sauerland and Helenius make somekind of deal, when Robert was still amateur..i think they know something about boxing and boxers skills
