Anyone seen much of this guy? Ive seen a few videos of him on youtube, he KOd Peters and Brewster both very durable fighters. He looks a bit clumsy and not skillful but still pulls of the wins.
He is one to look out for. Great power. That Peter KO was great. expect to see Helenius vs Areolla, boystov, pov, chambers etc.. in an elimator bout in the summer thats my guess
probably just on the cusp of being a title challenger few more name wins and he will be there bit stiff bit robotic good power, he had that solid look so i cant see him not having a decent chin
He's a good fighter. Kind of robotic, as has been mentioned, but he can go higher. He should fight this guy, Mike Pérez, it would be a nice fight for both, and specially for us. This content is protected
Where would Haye be - in some strong era? Robbe's not in his peak - wait a year or two and we shall all see what he's about.
Chris " The Nightmare " Arreola would be nice opponent. Helenius should collect all nightmares to himself
Haye would be top 10-15. It's hard to imagine him not getting stopped a few times in a better era because he does have a weak chin and, honestly, isn't that hard to hit. He's a much better fighter than Helenius will ever be though. Helenius is the kind of fighter people enjoy watching, they build them up despite their huge flaws and after a loss, they disappear. He's a Bryan Nielsen type fighter but at least he wants to prove himself. Both Klitschko's, Haye, Arreola, Solis etc., would all beat him. He's a decent fighter. I think him and Tyson Fury would be a good fight. EDIT: By "good" I mean that they would be evenly matched. It would be one of the sloppiest, ugliest, scrappiest fights you could imagine.
So far Helenius is the "once been" legend killer. He is putting guys like Brewster & Peter to sleep which was unlikely, both them had decent Chins in their day. I guess next he will KO Briggs, Rahman, someone like that. Hell, even McCall needs to line up a fight with him, doubt he'd crack that Iron Egg though.
What makes you think Solis would beat Helenius? was it the great way he fell at Vitali's feet in less than three minutes??
Helenius hasn't peaked yet so it's ridiculous to rate him in another era when he hasn't been properly rated in the current era.
IF they keep him busy and keep improving opponents I think he could and should be right in the mix in a year or two, no hurry with this guy, only 15 pro fights so far and he's one of the younger guys, if not the youngest in the top 10 Ring Rankings. I personally want to see him fight Arreola in the fall.
Helenius I wouldn't be so quick to judge. He has his weaknesses (stamina, work-rate) and I am not so sure Uli Wegner is the right coach for him. He could still turn out to be an amazing prospect and future belt holder. It's absolutely a possibility. Let's give him 2-3 years and see how he does against younger opposition with better athleticism and stamina than the older, past-prime guys he's been boxing.
sauerland said that they are building him up slowly and are waiting with a title shoot. i think sauerland feeds him with good names and he will stop them all, he has crazy power. but they will wait till the K bros are retired and then he will go for the belts. i saw a couple fights of him, and he has a good chin, mediocore stamina, bad footwork, slow, and not in top condition, but crazy power and is very accurate. he should be trained by steward
