Loved Murata's self-critique after the first fight. I just loved the honesty and how on point he was. And it just reads/sounds so well.

^ People saying the first fight was not very decisive need/needed to hear what Murata himself felt about it.

Don't retroactively try to make that out to have been a close contest all of a sudden.

Man, I missed it as I was sleeping. Anyways, I just saw the ESPN headline of Murata winning by 2nd round TKO. Congrats to Murata. The question now is will there be a rubber match given the tremendous swing in results with Brant winning by wide UD in the first and now Murata winning by 2nd round TKO in the second. Plus, where will the 3rd fight play out: Japan or USA?

Am I allowed to jump back on Murata's bandwagon.. or am I banned. I feel like a dirty traitor after trashing Murata after his first performance. Missed the fight live too.

What I liked from the rematch that I saw from Murata: No stupid smile while coming forward, dude was laser focused and blocked and slipped punches. Instead of trying to look menacing with an arrogant smile, his face wasn't emotional.

What I disliked: He still throws that straight right way too much in a row. When he had Brant hurt, literally threw it 5 times in a row and followed it up with a left to the body. He needs to throw different punches. Yes, he got brant out, but if he had a killer uppercut to split the guard he would be a way better fighter.

Murata also might be one of those fighters that thrive at fighting at home, and Brant might be the same.

Thought about quoting you telling me Murata is exposed and Brant will beat him again after the first. Never too late to jump on the bandwagon.

Did I say he'd beat him again? Honestly I was rooting for Murata the whole time, I was just disgusted by his first performance. @CST80 will tell you that before that fight I was Murata's biggest fan on here easily.

Found them, fair enough you did say he could beat Brant in Japan.

Yeah, I also think my criticism for him was a bit harsh. I was just so pissed at the outcome, it was one of the hardest fights I had to watch live. I was a bigger fan of Murata than I was of Inoue at that time. I still think he needs to work on one more go to punch to mix it up. He has solid power but not devastating power, so he can't get away with being a 2 punch fighter. What he does is mix up a right straight and left to the body, he either needs to add a right hand to the body or left uppercut. So he can target 3 sides, down the middle from a left angle to split the guard, the right side with a straight, and left part of their body.

Well Murata certainly shut my mouth. I wasn't high on Brant either way but I personally thought, how on Earth would Murata win when he had been so thoroughly dominated in the first fight. Such a comprehensive loss in a first fight rarely is overturned in a rematch..........welp.

Boxing will have you constantly eating humble pie

Most had the same take going in to it, to be fair. I expected a better performance from Murata, but I didn't expect this.

Murata's got a somewhat unusual quality in that he doesn't really adjust much during a fight, but he's tremendous at diagnosing and fixing issues for rematches. He's always going to be a more dangerous fighter the second go around.
