After scanning the comments, I think we're pretty much all in agreement. Brant wins going away, again.
You just don't get dominated like that and turn the tables, that was a comprehensive loss.

Not to say Drew and I are always spot on as far as scoring goes, but, we're not bad....

    Here's his final score.
    Here's my scorecard.

    Round 1 Brant 10-9
    Round 2 Brant 10-9
    Round 3 Brant 10-9
    Round 4 Brant 10-9
    Round 5 Murata 10-9
    Round 6 Murata 10-9
    Round 7 Murata 10-9
    Round 8 Brant 10-9
    Round 9 Murata 10-9
    Round 10 Brant 10-9
    Round 11 Brant 10-9
    Round 12 Murata 10-9

If we had it that close, and neither of us are overwhelmingly big fanboys of Murata, and don't have any problems with Brant. Do you not think the Japanese can find a round or 2 more to give to Murata, especially if he makes one or two subtle adjustments?

    Murata wins by controversial UD.

So being employed now (for the first time in 2019) is a good thing but the bad news is that I'm going to be working for this whole ESPN+ card tomorrow morning.

Ooh but look what a nice consolation prize I get: my shift will end just in time for me to be able to put up the stupid Amir Iqbal Khan vs. Bilal Dib & Lerato Dlamini vs. Dave Andreo Pumar Peñalosa RBR thread.

I'm hopping off the fence I talked myself on to earlier in the thread and picking Murata by SD

I'm pretty excited for this, not sure why. Brant dominated the first, I'm interested to see what Murata takes from that loss.

Murata's biggest issue is he only has 2 good punches, his straight and his left to the body. His jab is decent too. All he did was load up with his straight. It's really baffling to me how he won a gold medal, I'm a huge fan of Murata but I haven't really seen his amateur fights. I'm wondering if he fought a similar way. He needs to vary his punches up way more.

I remember back when CST was pissing in my ear about how great Khytrov was, watching this guy fight Khytrov in the amateurs. He shelled up when Khytrov walked to him and wouldn't throw back. He wouldn't take any chances and he couldn't adjust. I put that and how long he'd been an amateur together and thought, he's not the whole package. People are looking for a replacement for GGG but him, Khytrov, and Derevyanchenko are not it. They have some talent, but there's too many things missing. Canelo's probably going to reign for two or three years before a new champ emerges.

I never pissed in your ear when it comes to proclaiming Khytrov or Murata as the next Golovkin.... I said they were solid Middleweights that were capable of doing well and maybe winning some titles at MW. Also the question isn't, is this guy the new GGG, it's... can he beat Brant in a rematch in his home country. It's not like the first fight didn't have a lot of close rounds that a few small adjustments couldn't swing in the opposite direction the second time around.

I just had a thought. I'd like to see Murata, Derevyanchenko, and Korobov fight each other. Call it "Battle of the I Spent Too Long In the Amateurs."

What time does this fight start? Does the main event start at 7am eastern time, or the televised bouts.
