If the name of the B-side in the co-main event sounds familiar to longtime fans - it should. Colombian banger Joel "Love Child" Julio, a once very big hype magnet and in fact ESPN's "prospect of the year" for 2005, but who ended up pushed down into the murkily-remembered second tier of his era (but no great shame there, with that being the HUGE welterweight boom time of the mid-late aughts featuring Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, and Mosley - the best since the ODLH/Tito/Quartey/Whitaker era of the 90's, if not the Fab Three + Benítez from the decade prior) got off the canvas to survive the long ten-round haul against Ukrainian-Russian prospect Eduard Vladimirovich Skavynskyi in the co-main event to Magomed Ramazanovich Kurbanov vs. Liam Mark Smith this past May. He only has five bouts in the past decade, and sadly appears to be on a tour around Europe taking full-distance beatings for a paycheck. His opponent Nowicki, a green and feather-fisted southpaw, might just be lacking and/or unready enough for him to reverse his fortunes with an upset, however. (a little birdie - aka Google translate of a Polish news article :sisi1 - tells me that Nowicki showed major defensive lapses and got rocked several times by Vlad Gela of the Ukraine in his last bout)

I was warned the link wouldn't work without a VPN, but I'm not using one and it's fine for me. :nusenuse:

Rzadkosz is an undefeated yet very underwhelming cruiser...he's 6'1" but has been letting this little Ukrainian bulldog Yukhta, with a .500 record and stubby T-rex arms, stay in his chest and pester him with nonstop flurries up from an old-fashioned side-crouch. Really don't see much of a bright future for Rzadkosz at all based on this performance - hell, he'll be lucky to escape without a second draw or even his first loss if he doesn't find another gear.

The only thing keeping this from being "bored to tears" awful is Yukhta's effort, but he just doesn't have the ability to match. He is catching Rzadkosz square and forcing exchanges here and there, just not enough.

...all three judges are not just Poles themselves, but have scored multiple Rzadkosz bouts, usually quite favorably - so watch him still end up getting a shutout here instead of a run-close wake-up call.

Not that I've been scoring it, but, feels like it definitely shouldn't be a shutout. But probably will anyway.

    Here, found Nowicki vs. Gela:

...and here is Julio's most recent outing, versus Kamil Gardzielik:

Skimming through both pieces of footage, this could well be 50-50 depending on how negative Julio decides to be.

Yukhta kept putting it on Rzadkosz's ass until the final bell, athough he sustained a cut by his eye that seemed to affect him (and caused the ref to pause for a doctor check midway through round eight) after which Rzadkosz teed off with straight volleys targeting it and leaving a strong last impression.

Decision for Mateusz Rzadkosz, couldn't understand the scores (and nobody's updated BoxRec or Tweeted about them) but seemed like a UD.

In looking for the scores I see homeboy getting roasted by his countrymen, though...

"Po co tacy ludzie jak Rzadkosz boksują? Gość jest kurwa tak słaby, a ludzie dookoła tego nie widza?! Ataki składa z szybkością dziadka do orzechów.
(Why people like Rzadkosz box? The guy is so ****ing weak and people don't see it ?! He attacks with the speed of a nutcracker.)
    "

...and other comments in that vein.

Weird. This one isn't even listed on the card's BoxRec page, and neither lady is on the active roster as neither has fought in over a year - but this is nonetheless somehow for the vacant EBU title at 135lbs. :nusenuse:

(Sidorenko, born in Ukraine and based in Warsaw for her entire pro career, is a former titlist herself, capturing the vacant belt in 2017, but she never defended it and has fought just twice since, both 8-rounders)

I was expecting Nowicki vs. Julio next after that big gap. 10:30pm local time already, two bouts to go past this one.... ah well.
