Round 1

Stieglitz is darting in and out, holding the jab out unfurled to push off when Khomitsky presses in. Stieglitz bats at Khomitsky's gloves with his jab, trying to separate them like a bead curtain to find a home for the right, coiled at the ready by his chin. Stieglitz is moving to his left and catching Khomitsky in clinches as he comes in with hooks on the ribs. Stieglitz falls backward, ruled a slip. The crowd didn't like it, but it's unclear whether they feel it should've been a KD call on Stieglitz or that Khomitsky did something dirty. Solid body work by Khomitsky, hooking with both hands as Stieglitz protects his head and lays on the ropes. Clinch. Khomitsky sticks a jab and then works a long left hook, grazing the chin of Stieglitz. Jab on the belly button by Khomitsky from outside.

Round 2

Stieglitz is jabbing and taking long steps laterally, not forming his guard up properly, leaving plenty of space between each set of limbs for Khomitsky to penetrate with his lead foot on the mat and his left jab up at head level. Khomitsky is tied up every time he dives in with a jab and chopping right combo. Stieglitz is dancing out by the ropes leaving his jab at full extension, more a static obstacle than a snapped punch. Khomitsky is weaving inside, hitting the body where he can. Nice sneaky body jab by Khomitsky starting a kneeling motion partway.

So this is why the Stieglitz vs. Abraham rubbermatch went down so differently from the rematch. It wasn't that Abraham turned back the clock; Stieglitz is just shot to ****.

Round 3

Khomitsky is walking into jabs now, grabbed whenever he steps close. Stieglitz is boxing ugly, popping a trail of light double and triple jabs in Khomitsky's path and then jumping in to hold. Khomitsky walks into a solid 1-2, Stiegltiz's best shots of the night eliciting a whoop from his supporters in the crowd. A slow clap begins to egg Stieglitz on but he is content to keep the pace low and the action scrappy. Lots of wrestling and back-slapping.

I guess. You mean as in, not too punchy or anything? Nah, just sounds like a gruff angry old German dude. :yep

 

Round 4

Khomitsky is walking forward, throwing jabs and slicing rights at the body. Stieglitz is keeping the wet blanket on Khomitsky, hugging at every turn after sticking in light single jabs.

10-9 Stieglitz, being a pain in the ass but effective.

Round 5

Time out. Tape fixed on Khomitsky's glove. Khomitsky is using a Foreman-style crossed-arm guard to screen out Stieglitz's jabs and looking to catch him at the end of his in-and-out flurries with a big lobster-fishing left hook, dragging the sea floor before he pulls it up quickly at the last second to hopefully catch Stieglitz before he can see it coming. Stieglitz is always just a short backward hop from safety, though, and jittery enough at rest to be already half on the move when Khomitsky goes for him. Jab by Stieglitz, long counter hook by Khomitsky. Stieglitz is caught flush by a hard right hand while moving in to clinch. Stieglitz backs into the ropes trading jabs with Khomitsky. Clinch. Shaken free. Another clinch. Right hand above the ear by Khomitsky while held.

Round 6

Khomitsky is jabbing the body and tossing grenade rights up top. Stieglitz is slinking away, buttocks stuck out and stomach tightly sucked in, head turtled down between his shoulders. Stieglitz is throwing jabs and slapping hooks in combination as he stems off Khomitsky's offensive charges and ties up.
