Was he fenomenal or was he fenomenal.
He moved, punched, countered like a lightweight. Sometimes putting rapid fast 5 punch combinations together. Unbelievable to watch imo.
I find him way more exciting to watch then Savon.

He was an Olympic gold medal winner in '92 and a three-time world champion. Also a gold medal pan-am games.
Unfortunately he died in car accident a few years after that, if I recall correct.

Maybe jaycuban can elaborate a bit on what an impact, or not, it had on the Cuban population and Cuban boxing. I guess this must have been a hard shock.

    ??:blood
Since when is amateur boxing known for its knock-outs:huh
He punched just as hard as most super heavy's. And hard enough to KO Maskaev. And even if he wasn't, than what's the deal?

    Next time don't talk sh*t ok:good :hi:

It is. It is just that english is a language that hardly makes sense to those who have used it their entire life. In this case, the spelling would be 'phenomenal,' the 'ph' being pronounced similar to how an 'f' would be.

I have never heard of this guy before so I shall check it out.

Balado may have been the best ever. Its a shame we'd never know just how great he could have been.Saying that, his resume was incredible.World junior champion, two times worls amateur champion and olympic champion.Arguably his greatest achievment was winning the prestigious Val Barker trophy awarded at the olympics to the best stylist. That above anything else is a testimony to just how fast and elusive he was as he so far is the only super heavy to ever recieve it.
