Can anyone tell me about their relationship? How often was Duran cornered by Lewis? And Considering that we know Lewis definitely helped a fighter he worked with cheat atleast once in Luis Resto and that he probably also helped Aaron Pryor cheat in his first battle with Alexis Arguello, is there any chance that he may have helped Duran cheat at some point in his career?

Particularly in the first Leonard fight and in the Davey Moore bout.

Leonard always talks about how hard Duran punched that night, and ranks Duran (who was a jumping up in 2 weight classes) as the hardest puncher he ever fought, which is surprising seeing as he fought and went to war with Hagler and was dropped twice by Hearns. Also IIRC Lewis was in Duran's corner that night.

The Moore fight occured on the same card as Resto V Collins. Moore took a horrible beating and his face was badly swollen after the fight, not unlike Billy Collins who also suffered terrible swelling from his fight with Resto.

I'm not saying that Duran definitely cheated, but IMO i wouldn't be too surprised.
It's not like Duran was known for being a clean fighter or a good sportsman.

Also, I ask that when to you're coming to your conclusion on whether or not Duran with the help of Panama Lewis cheated, that you try not to look at him through the lens of an ATG or one of your favorite fighters.

Well, I don't recall Panama Lewis working Duran's corner for either the first Leonard fight or for the Davey Moore fight.

In fact, Duran was having his hands taped while the Luis Resto-Billy Collins fight was going on. And Duran was on camera having his hands taped during the Roger Leonard undercard fight the night he fought Leonard in Montreal. While you can't see who is taping them, the camera was aimed right at Duran having his hands taped the whole time, and Lewis wasn't there as far as I know.

So, basically, NO. (LOL) Lewis wasn't involved with Duran's hands in either of those fights that night.

If Lewis worked Duran's corner for the first Leonard fight, he only carried the bucket. Ray Arcel and Freddie Brown were Duran's corner that night and if anyone thinks Arcel would tolerate doctoring gloves or administering drugs, they need to learn a lot more about the sport.

The Davey Moore fight was the main event on the night of Resto-Collins which was on the undercard right?

Yes, actually there was a fight between Resto-Collins and Duran-Moore ... the Escalara-Hatcher fight. Hands are usually taped before the final "undercard" fight, because it could end in a round or two. That's why Duran got taped up during the Roger Leonard fight and not the John Tate-Berbick fight the night he fought Ray.
