Like I said in my original post, I couldn't pick a winner. Both did jaw dropping things in their careers. Duran starting at 115 and campaigned all the way up to 160, fought everybody that was anybody. Mayweather moving up 5 divisions and remaining undefeated. I agree that Mayweather beat better comp more consistently than Duran. But that SRL win goes a long way when comparing careers and Duran did beat very decent comp himself. I might do some research and compare their 10 best wins, just to see how things look.

Duran is a top 10 ATG and Floyd is not (I got him @top 15/20 depending on the day), but that doesn't mean you should take what he says as a scientific fact. Most boxers are not members of mensa, Duran just like Floyd has spoken a lot of bs throughout the years. I think we should all just enjoy the fights and take any fighters' statements with a grain of salt.

Actually believing in the tooth fairy is not that far from believing in god(s). People like magic and want to believe that it really exists.

I think more about 25 Elite Fighters. Not many Boxers start fighting Elite-level Fighters in their first fight.
Just saying. No intention to talk floyds success small

    Maybe little better?

and just because you don't know older LW doesn't mean the era was weak.

also the current WW division gets way too much praise.it's the money division.

Duran fought also those ATG'S on their prime. Floyd fought nobody on their primes.JMM maybe the closest.all the cheating and being bigger man.it still could be Floyd biggest win on close to prime ATG.

Floyd is great and definetly in the small group of elites.but Duran and couple of other names are just inreachable for modern boxers.

Floyd could have elevated himself close to there.but this Pac fight happening 4years after it's expiry date holds it back.

Duran speaks the truth.that Floyd fought nobody, atleast in their primes.and Floyd always had the all advantages when that happened.

ODLH happened too late,Mosley too late etc.. credit for Floyd fighting everybody on right time.

Duran the smaller man fought and went up against.prime Leonard,Hearns and Hagler.granted not winning all,but being competitive.

those 3 fights alone could rival Floyd all career.again,Floyd never fought anybody close to those.old cokehead Oscar would be the closest.but Oscar was not on the level of SRL or Hagler.and as i said.out of prime old slow and still could be argued Floyd lost.

and nevermind nowadays is so easy to become champion.Broner is 3weight champion.

Floyd has about 10 great names on his boxing resume.but none of them are considered great wins.wonder why. And i think little bit overrating boxers like Cotto.would have been in 70's solid top 10.but never this close to ATG career he now has.

boxing has watered down so much it's travesty.
