I think Garcia Bernal will do a good job as De Niro. He has been in some really great movies and put on some solid performances. I know Usher used to act back in the day, but I still have trouble picturing him as SRL. Who knows though, maybe he will surprise me.

Gael Garcia Bernal is a really good choice, i don't know about usher we'll have to see. Sergio Peris-Mencheta would've been a good choice too.

Puts me in mind of Tony Zale -- who was still in great shape -- to play himself in the Rocky Graziano biopic, SOMEBODY UP THERE LIKES ME.

On the first day rehearsing fight choreography with Paul Newman at Stillman's Gym, Zale got fired. ('replaced by a stuntman) He broke Newman's rib -- didn't know how to pull his punches.

I don't understand Usher as Sugar Ray Leonard. It seemed like it would be a good movie until that point.

I don't know why everyone's shitting on Usher. Maybe you should see the movie before you judge. He doesn't seem any gayer than SRL and definitely not as gay as the dude playing Duran.

I think this Bernal dude looks a lot like a young Duran, good casting IMO....Usher on the other hand looks nothing like SRL.
