Kirkland Laing would've ****ed him up good, too.
Duran was lucky that he Laing trained on Red Stripe and hash cakes or he wouldn't have made 6 rounds with the 'Gifted One.'

Whether he was beating Buchanan at the time of his win is absolutely irrelevant.
Golota was giving Bowe a beatdown twice, but transgressed the RULES OF BOXING and was quite rightly thrown out.
The same fate should have befallen Duran, end of.
As has been pointed out on other posts, Duran's record against Leonard, Hagler and Hearns was poor.
He beat Leonard once, fair and square, but came up short on 4 other occasions against this trio of true greats.
And against Hearns, he was made to look a complete bum.
The 'Hit Man,' by the way, has greater claims to boxing immortality, in so far as he moved up through the weights, fighting and WINNING against a greater calibre of fighter than Mr 'No Mas' did in the second half of his career.
Even though Hearns lost to Barkley - a common foe of the pair - on two occasions, one could argue that 'The Blade' got very lucky - twice - in fights that most observers thought he was losing and, particularly in their first pairing, was on the point of being TKO'd himself.
This should not detract from the fact that Tommy Hearns won versions of 'World Championship' straps at Welter, Light Middle, Middle, Super Middle, Light Heavy AND Cruiserweight.
Moreover, he comprehensively defeated Leonard in their rematch (irrespective of what the record books may tell you) as well as men who were naturally some 3 stone heavier than him when he was at his 'prime.'
I stand by my original assessment.
Duran was a rough, tough hombre, who invariably came up short against the true greats (and, to be fair, some fairly ordinary fighters too) of his era.

All that rough house shite you are talking is fake as hell to read. Nobody thought Duran was even close to being a dirty fighter. Buchanon was faking the low blow because he was losing first off, and that is why he lost that fight. The ref and judges knew. Buchanon quit and the low blow was his way out. Barkley beating Hearns was not luck because he did it twice. Barkley almost tkoing himself...nut:nut Duran coming up short against true greats fought them past his best, and defeated one in his prime in Leonard, something Hearns, Hagler or Benitez couldn't do. Duran was a hell of a fighter, but he is not ranked above Sugar all time or so-called pfp.

Duran was also most fortunate to get a decision against Scotland's finest, Kenny Buchanan, when, after hitting him 'south of the border' for the umpteenth time, Buchanan was unable to continue.
Not only was Duran gifted the stoppage win, but Buchanan was never granted the automatic rematch he should so obviously been granted.
No, Duran was just a determined little street brawler, albeit with much grit and determination when he was 'up for it,' but got well and truly found out against most decent quality opposition.
It's high time that the Duran myth was exposed once and for all.

I have no idea is this is a joke, if you are trying to stir **** up or for real. But if you are for real, you need to get some perspective on boxing in the early 70s and 80s when Duran was a major force in boxing. Because you obviously are lacking valid boxing facts about the great roberto duran. How old are you son?
