He would be just another guy in the bunch among the Fab Four, and that's not a knock on Mayweather. He stands out as the very best P4P in this era, but their era was clearly far better.
Who Mayweather? Very highly, just not Duran highly. Duran's about top 5-10 and Mayweather's about top 20, could go as high as 12-15 depending on who he fights and how he wins.
Duran is 100% correct. The only thing interesting would be reading / listening to his excuses for avoiding 4 guys who were all fighting at the same time, as opposed to only 1.
If Floyd fought Duran he would own him like Leonard did, Hearns Hagler ect would have been a diffrent problem for Floyd but **** off Duran Floyd is right on his level if not better IMO
Floyd wouldn't even be fighting in that era. He'd be a member of the village people. Can you imagine Floyd sporting that Buckwheat-due like his dad did back in the day? Like that guy in MC Hammers band? Don King might of adopted him for having the same hair due. Fab 4 beat Floyd easy, they'd laugh at Floyds competition. Even on their worst nights. Floyd looked like crap vs old DelaHoya, DELAHOYA, NO CHANCE VS Duran, esp a prime one or Montreal one.
If Mayweather EVER found the courage to fight Duran, he would get battered just like Leonard did in their first fight, only unlike Leonard he wouldn't have the heart to last the distance. Duran TKO 9.
I think FMJ would be just fine fighting anyone from 130-140lbs in history. He may or may not lose/get KO'd, but he would match up against anyone of the following fairly well...... Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong, Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Hector Camacho, Aaron Pryor, Antonio Cervantes, etc. There is possibility that Floyd might go undefeated against them all, which in at least his mind and the minds of his fans gives ammunition to argue his ATG status.
There's a possibility he wouldn't and he certainly wouldn't be the favorite to, that would go either to Duran or Armstrong, followed by Pryor..
