I don't get why people are surprised by Duran's comment, the guy was notorious for talking **** in his day. I'm sure Floyd will still be calling himself 'TBE' and talking **** on the new guys in 20 yrs time. They're fighters man, they're proud like that.

Wtf is Duran's fat ass talking bout? Hell, Roger or Money Sr. would've beat his overrated ass let alone the PPV King himself.

Number of times Mayweather quit, saying he had to take a poo: 0
Number of times some geezer "lejend" came out of the woodwork to slam somebody who makes him feel insecure: 1 billion

A thread is made on that quote seemingly every month.

Yes, he would have been just another guy...just another elite, in an era rich with them.

Even accepting that all four of the fab ones beat him, that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a top name right up there just beneath them with the best of the rest.

    1. Getting into the ring takes courage. And that is not debatable.

    2. If a fighter boxes in a style that is more suited to his opponent's strengths instead of to his own, that's not called courage. That's called stupidity.

It's funny to see that Floyd is the only fighter who is talked about amongst the greats. Rarely do we hear other names like B-Hop, Pac, Ward, Klitschkos. Says a lot.

Neither would Duran. He can never be to sure when those phantom stomach cramps start flaring up again and prevent him from finishing a fight.

If Mayweather was in the Duran / Leonard era he probably would have campaigned in the lower weight classes and would have made his bones fighting the likes of Alexis Arguello, Arron Pryor. and Duran. 147 would be like his 154 campaign today. I think he would have fought Leonard and a few others but not Hearns. I think he would have beaten Leonard ( look what Sr did and his skills were no where near what his son's are). Floyd Mayweather Jr's skill set is better than SSL and he wouldn't have lost to Duran the first time.

I think that the fab four would have bought out the very best in Floyd

if his skills are better than leonard then why wouldnt he fight hearns :huh, everyone talks about hearns as if hes the most feared fighter in history, great fighter yes but people take it as sacralige as if to compare anyone against him

If Mayweather fought in their era he'd be a victim of truism of the day 'a good big man beats good little man'
