Floyd certainly would have truble countering Tommy`s straight right because of the reach difference, Floyd`s shoulder roll might not work that well.
Moore at Super Welter. Barkley at Middle. Duran was never in great shape at either of these weights. He was extra motivated and used his brain to beat these men. Duran also lost to Laing at Super Welter, he was inconsistent at best.
Leonard is near unbeatable at Welter regardless of his strategy. He was a dynamic fighter that could do it all, and do it all great. He was also a great adjuster, the fact he couldn't adjust against Duran speaks volumes.
That isn't always the case. Kinchen gave Hearns a good fight and Hearns beat Hill who knocked out Kinchen in one.
It would be a worse showing than his 2nd SRL fight, he may even no mas out of this fight too tbh. He would keep missing and missing and missing. Just some food for thought. He has never faced anyone with this kind of defense. Not even close. I don't see anyone in 147 and below ever beating this, MAYBE just Robinson. Not even Hearns.
He adjusted just fine in fight 2 and made him no mas out of there. Just saying. Completely embarrassing Duran.
We've already established that he beat Marcel. Stopped an ATG in his prime. That's extremely rare. The last time that was done was in 2003. Hearns never stopped an ATG in their prime. Hagler only did it once, Duran just once, maybe two if you count De Jesus. Leonard did it twice. RJJ never did it. Toney never did. Hopkins did it against a much smaller man. Pacquiao only did it once. Mosley, DLH, Loma, Garcia, Usyk, Ward, Kovalev, Froch, nobody has done it. Not even Floyd. Hell, he doesn't even have a decision against an A level fighter in their prime. Its rare.
Floyd is one of the most over rated welterweights in history, with a long track record of selective match making at the weight.
He's one of the greatest to ever do it, top 5 ATG. That's a fact that's irrefutable. No one's beating no FLOYD, except POSSIBLY and I mean POSSIBLY SRR. He may have a decent chance. I'm still betting on Floyd's defense.
Leonard was the man at Welter, he had just knocked out Benitez in what I feel was his best performance. He would only have 5 bouts after the loss to Duran before his first long retirement. Leonard was elite for more than 5 fights.
