So what's all the fuss about Pacquiao fighting DeLaHoya ??

Pac started out professional at 106 (at age 16, like Duran), and DeLaHoya started out at 130-135 (at age 19, like Hagler)

And this is just one example. For those of you who dont know, Duran gave Hagler a decent fight over 15 rounds. And in contrast to Pac v DLH, it was Duran who was the old man.

Also, I remember Michael Spinks, a man who had NEVER fought a man over 175, beating an undefeated 35 year-old all-time great heavyweight in Larry Holmes.
Many people were calling that fight a mismatch, saying Spinks was far too small.

Believe it or not - and people here are quick to forget - most opinion on ESB before the Jones Jr.-Ruiz fight reckoned Jones was gonna get flattened by the much bigger Ruiz.

It's not about where they started, it's where they've been fighting recently.

I don't think much of Pac starting out at 106 or whatever and DLH winning his first belt at 130. DLH has however, been four divisions above Pac for all of his career until this May/June, when they were "only" 15 pounds apart. Hagler and Duran had been one division apart for the previous 3 years.

I don't even care that much anymore. DLH has a size advantage, we all know that. I just hope the fight doesn't stink.

We have all dealt with the build up, the bitching and bull**** . . . I just wanna watch the fight and hope it gives a good showing of the sport of boxing, at this point whether i agree or disagree with the hating of the fight and De La Hoya, im just sick of hearing it.

I don't really care about all the haters it will be a great fight (for however long it last's.)
Let's throw some optimism in with all the cynicism and loathing!

Manny Pacquiao has been weighing in between 144 and 146 for his last few bouts. So in reality he's been fighting just at about Welterweight for some time.

Duran was a defensive master. Pacquiao, not so much.
