Duran beat SRL at 147. Noway Manny does that. And Manny gets murdered at 135 IMO.. Duran was an absolute beast at lightweight.

I think Pacquiao would knock Duran on his ass, just like he did to Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Cotto, Mosley etc.. only reason he didn't knock Margarito down was because Margarito had 17 lbs on him. Duran liked to lunge in there, like he did aginst Hearns as a last recourse. Surely you people know that Pacquiao stops people cold.

I love Sweet Pea too, but I think he was more effective 147-154. 135 he tended to get into wars and if he fought Duran like when he fought Uncle Rog Pea would get decisioned by Duran. Duran pre
Leonard is the best Duran and that one beats Leonard, Benitez, and Pacman. Possibly even Hearns. Post the Leonard rematch its clear Duran isnt the fearsome brawler anymore. Hell if Laing outboxed him of course so was Benitez. Duran from Montreal beats any ww in history.
Again, Benitez was fighting version that wasnt brawling or putting pressure. Duran looked outta shape and uninterested. Floyd and Pacman and many others including Terry Norris could of beaten that version. Montreal Duran rapes all of them.

Some of you younger fans think its impressive that Pacquiao is currently beating come foward bigger fighters.....
Duran was about to turn 38 when he beat a prime Iran Barkley, talk about impressive....

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCFqF2ZomTg[/ame]

Replace Margarito against Pacquiao against this Roberto Duran that fought Davey Moore.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM9ivIVyhEE[/ame]

Again, this is far from a prime Duran....
This Duran rapes Manny Pacquiao be it at 147 or 150 lbs.

Unlike any welter Pacquiao has faced. This Duran moves to the lateral and just does'nt stand there after he punches.
Look at Duran's waist movements on defense.
What 147 and above fighter can do that, that Pacquiao has fought?????

What I'm getting at here is that even an out of prime Duran in his mid-thirties beat the current Manny Pacquiao, and he would do it with ease imo.

Duran has too much know how, fantasitic defense, and either moves or gets in close on the clinch after he punches.

Pacquiao would be out of his element here, it would be embarrasing.

Some people are talking about fantasy fights right?! EVERYBODY BEATS PAC on fantasy fights!!! Even Valero and Sotto beats Pacquio in fantasy fights!LoL! Actual figth?! It's been ages since Pacquio lost and Morelas paid dearly after his win with Pacquio!

    Lets complete the picture here...

Barkley beats Hearns. Hearns BEATS Duran BRUTALLY which he was NEVER able to revenge (FACT!) Duran beats Barkely by UD!

I checked Pacquio's record at boxrec. His previuos losses were in his early part of his boxing career and we could safely say he was still not in the boxing limelight. In other words he was a nobody in boxing at that time..

I look at boxers not only on how many signifacant wins a fighter has but also on how they lose or how many losses they have. That's the whole legacy of a boxer. The whole picture. BTW, can you count how many HUMILIATING LOSSES does Duran has?! Do you want me to count it for you?! LoL!

I've watched Duran since he first fought Esteban de Jesus and he's my favorite fighter of all time, but Hell no.. Pacquiao is by far no easy fight for Duran. Pacquiao's speed would give Duran big problems, but he would have to stay on the outside to win on points or by a well placed punch by KO. If Pacquiao allowed Duran to fight him on the inside or the ropes like he did with Cotto, he would probably get KO'd. Pacquiao has questionable ability on the inside because doesn't seem to want to use any infighting tactics. He doesn't like to hold, use his head, elbows or shoulders. Duran on the other had was a master on the inside.

There's a lot of ****** here that think Druan would **** and knock Pacquiao out in a few rounds LOL. I'm sure Duran will be the favorite to win because he's the bigger guy and also a great fighter...a legend in his time. But to say that Duran would murder Pacquiao is LOL....why...because he couldn't even murdered Angel Garcia, Esteban De Jesus, Javier Ayala, and Doc McClendon. If those guys can go the distance with Duran, I'm sure PAC can do it to. Will PAC win the fight...we wouldn't know but I'm sure Duran would be the favorite to win. Like I said, don't be surprise if Pacquiao take down Duran also. Pacquiao is this generation best fighter, he's no push over like some of you claimed. Pacquiao has proved us wrong many many time...I know he proved me wrong many time. Only after the fight that people start to make excuse for the other guy. I know Dela Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley is no Duran but they will tell you straight out that Pacquiao is no JOKE!

You're comparing standing straight up in front of a slow Moore (may he RIP) and a pretty slow Barkley (but smooth flowing) to standing straight up in front of Pacquiao. And you think he would just get away with that unscathed vs Pacquiao? He'd taste canvas. Those two were nothing when compared to the (lb 4 lb) destruction that Pacquio has always brought, and is now bringing it more than ever.

And I know he was older there, and moving up in weight, great wins, but the Duran speed in those videos is a JOKE compared to modern day Pacquiao.

Better to show younger Duran when he had more speed going for him.

I do think most would pick Duran easily, but I'm not so sure about it. Maybe you or somebody could name me a time for Pacquiao (other than when he was a 16 year old boy fighting grown men as a PRO, not an AMATEUR) when he got into a spot of bother in the ring that he couldn't get out of. Considering everybody he's fought, there must be one occasion when he's been proven wrong.

    Duran does beat pacman's ass!

he schools him. at LW this guy forged the greatest career in the division. Hell Benny and Pea would school pac at LW as well.

Duran didn't suffer an unavenged loss until he fought Benitez 20 pounds above his prime weight and ten years after his championship victory over buchanan.

He lossed a couple of bad fights to Laing and Simms but again this is a Lightweight who ruled the 70's we're talking about losing in his 30's to middleweights and light middleweights.

Hell he even took Hagler the distance and was arguably beating him after 12 rounds, this is a lightweight we're talking about.

Pac will go down as a great but duran is on a different level.

Honestly, Duran would counter him silly at times. People saying Duran hasn't got the speed, Marquez managed pretty well and Duran is certainly faster than him, especially his footspeed. Not many fighters landed combos on Duran, even Leonard struggled. Duran would be slipping, feinting and rushing Pac, backing him up and punishing him on the inside. This is what the difference would be, counter punching and inside.

    Duran late TKO.

Tbh I think De Jesus v Pacquiao would be the more interesting fight. I would take Manny to stop him in a classic.

LOL that's the funny thing. So Duran by TKO. Well how come Duran didn't TKO Angel Garcia, Esteban De Jesus ( first fight ), Javier Ayala, and Doc McClendon?
