Trout was a solid boxer and a southpaw, and Duran could have issues with those.

    Who wins this matchup?

Trout is a good fighter, but he can't hang with the version of Durán that ran through Cuevas and Moore.

I don't believe Trout beats the best of Davey Moore, much less the best of Duràn at Jr. Middleweight.

If he gets the version that lost to Benitez and Kirkland Laing, I can see Trout winning.

If he gets the version that beat Davey Moore, Pipino Cuevas and gave Marvelous Marvin a great fight at 160, Duran wins it.

It would entirely depend on Roberto,

I know 154 wasn’t Duran’s best weight. But I still think he beats Austin Trout. And no disrespect to Trout either . He was a decent boxer but just out of his league here.

Southpaw with 72 inch reach who schooled Cotto and barely lost to Canelo during his best couple of years. I get the feeling that Duran would show up as the "version" who lost to Benitez and Laing rather than the "version" who beat Moore and Cuevas.

But he could hang with the version that lost clearly to Laing. And they aren't that far apart.
