it was a sad fight more than impressive. Davey Moore had 8 or so fights. Duran thumbs him and it changest he tenor of the fight and a guy with 8 fights cannot hold off a guy who has 80 fights. Hearns showed everyone how to fight Duran. But Hearns was great. Moore was not!!!!

Why do you keep comparing everyone to Hearns?!?!? It's spasticated logic.

Moore was a solid pro', coming off a very impressive win. And he'd go on to stop Benitez (in admittedly bizarre circumstances) and was a quality win for Duran.

Pay him no mind. If nobody responds he'll stop polluting the Classic Forum. That's the second ******ed post I've seen him make, both about Duran.

Moore had his career shortened by this horrible trashing. We could have seen a repeat of 'Davey Moore died in the ring'

I've watched this fight about 10 times and this is Duran at his best, A brutal systematic beat down mostly with vicious body punches. The thumb was definitely accidental, but even if it never occurred, Moore couldn't have won that fight, because for whatever reason, his punches didn't seem to phase Duran. It's certainly one of Duran's top 5 fights if you ask me.

Roberto indeed had a Garden party on his 32nd birthday ! It was his best performance since the first Leonard fight three years previously. He was n't as good as he was in Montreal, but he did n't need to be. Being as good as he possibly could be at that particular time was enough to beat the good but still inexperienced Moore.
