Montreal Duran beats the best version of Curry. I'm a huge fan of Curry but that Duran isn't losing to him.

    Montreal Duran brutally mauls Curry.

Curry had absolutely zero of SRL's chin and toughness. He was extremely talented and skilled, but mentally soft. Not to mention, he was a lot more robotic than Leonard and had a bad tendency to pull straight back from punches (Honeyghan and McCallum both exposed that weakness). Duran's right cross is landing on Curry all night.

Curry quits within 8 after taking a beating. If he doesn't quit, then the ref jumps in circa 9-10.

If you wanna put him against Robinson, Napoles, Gavilan, etc., then its perfectly fine to pick against him.

Duran at his best ain't losing to Donald Curry.

A better matchup imo is Duran vs Trinidad.

I'm not saying I favour Curry in al honesty, but he was a quality fighter and would have a solid chance against Duran, or at the very least would put up a good showing. It's just a bit comical how Duran is such an overwhelming forum darling.

Duran's strengths are perfect for exploiting Curry's biggest weaknesses.

Curry lacked the footspeed and mental strength to pull off what Leonard accomplished in the No Mas.

I love Donald Curry but he was too vulnerable to getting hurt. Sure he was a natural welterweight with excellent boxing ability and even a bit of power. But as the fight progressed the shots he’d be taking to the head and body from Duran would take their toll leading to an eventual stoppage. Might be a good fight for a while.

Curry in his brief prime was excellent but even at his best he would be seriously outgunned by the version of Duran that beat SRL. Unlike SRL who was able to fight back and take punishment without crumbling Curry wouldn't be able to handle the consistent onslaught and eventually he'll get stopped late. Duran is just on a different level.

Don Curry is one of my favourite fighters (as is Duran), and over the years he does get underrated.

He beat quality fighters champions like Starling (twice),McCrory and quality contenders like Colin Jones (one of the most hurtful punchers I´ve ever seen), Roger Stafford and Nino Larrocca. He had poise and power and was a joy to watch.

Unfortunately he struggled with Korean strongman Hwang and his surrender to Honeyghan really hurts his standing in my eyes.

I think he might give Duran trouble over the 1st 4 rounds but the Robert who dominated Palomino and beat Leonard was just too much for Curry who would start to slowly unravel and be lucky to see the 12th round.

Yeah sort of like Robinson, Greb, and other all time great pound for pound fighters who when at their best are almost unbeatable
