****ing hilarious. Picking a guy to KO one of the best defensive fighters in history despite being the guy with the styles disadvantage in the fight.:rofl:patsch If people actually looked at the fight realistically instead of seeing Duran as this unstopable God they would realize that PBF is a bad match up for Duran, he would in no way in hell walk right through him like many think. The more likely outcome is PBF would give Duran fits with his speed defense countering and accuracy possibly outboxing him to a win.

He beat bigger, better, faster & harder punching boxers than Floyd & he did it past his prime & above his best weight.

Duran from the Moore fight whoops Floyd from the De La Hoya fight.

If Mayweather has a chance to realistically win against Duran at his best, it's at 135 where he has more movement and speed. Still, Duran beats him there in a clear decision. This flat-footed Mayweather we're seeing today would get torn up against the Duran that fought Carlos Palomino and Ray Leonard in Montreal. He was flat-out a more effective operator; better offense, more fluid offense, better combination punching, great timing and skills from distance and in-close, great defense, brutal body punching, better instincts on the inside and better positioning in-close. His feinting and footspeed would work wonders here.

Mayweather doesn't have the tools to beat Duran, and I was never impressed with Mayweather against Castillo or De La Hoya (both of whom are miles below Duran, who beat one of the 5 or so best H2H fighters ever). Duran actually has several wins as good as any on Mayweather's dossier; Leonard, Marcel, Buchanan, De Jesus x 2, Palomino, etc.

Floyd hasnt done anything to indicate he could beat the great Duran at 154 or any weight. Beating an old Oscar by a round or two doesnt help his case. Duran was a giant step up from anyone Floyd has ever fought. For Duran, Floyd would have just been another opponent. He wouldnt ave gone into the fight enamored by him like so many of his opponents do.

The Duran who fought Laing in Detroit would get beaten by Mayweather. After quitting in New Orleans, Duran brought his fury and passion sporadically. He lost a lot of his desire and half-assed a lot of training camps (which hurt even worse at 154 where his legs slowed). You don't go from beating Ray Leonard to losing to Kirkland Laing and not experiencing some change as a fighter. Let's compare Duran at his best and Mayweather at his best, shall we?

Well I assume in this thread we are talking about a well prepared Duran against a well prepared Floyd. Duran had an off night with Liang, but Liang also fought the best fight of his career. Duran was just coming off a loss to the great Wilfredo Benitez. Plus, although not as great a fighter as Floyd, his style was tougher for Duran that I think Floyds would be and he was naturally bigger and stronger than floyd. He was great the night he fought Duran and would have given anyone problems that night.
