    Why not Duran vs.Mayweather at 135, a 15-rounder?

    Duran was a great fighter but he still lost to Ray Leonard 2x,Wilfredo Benitez,Marvin Hagler,Tommy Hearns,Vinny Pazienza 15% of all his fights he lost.. He lost most of his big name fights

    If the guy lived in todays internet age he would be considered a bum by ESB standards! And he quit in the middle of the ring while not being hurt,I swear old timers always get a pass..

    If Duran lived and fought in the current decade (2002 - 2012).... oh man, all the possibilities. Floyd would've ducked Duran at 130 to 147, Duran would've scared Floyd into retirement just by staring at him.

    Floyds style is similar to SRL, more tactical boxing than brawling. floyds wins this one

    So you can throw an insult, but how does Duran win, In every measurable way, he comes up short? Height, Reach, Speed, Defense, Ring IQ you name it.

    @south

    Those physical feats don't matter when it comes to a beast like Duran.

    The Duran that lost to Hagler would be enough.

    Sure Duran is a beast, but he was tamed by men who could box, Leonard, Joppy, Camacho, Benitez. Duran's power is legendary, but if you could make him box and not fall into a brawl with him, he was beatable and Mayweather is too smart for that.

    :good Hagler was a great MW and Duran was way above his best weight (and past his prime), yet Duran went the distance and gave him a competitive fight.
    Sure RD had his off nights and if Hearns connected he could take out anyone.

    I actually think FM would duck an anything close to a prime Duran.

    @Decker

    The thing about ducking, is it's all based on opinion and speculation and hard to prove, just like if I said Duran ducked Tony Ayala or Aaron Pryor, I can't prove it unless Duran himself said it, which he didn't,......just saying.

    It is - these types of topics are all speculation.

    I think FM would be a fav over Pac, yet no amount of money/contract can seem to get Mayweather in the ring w/Pac :huh
    You can reasonably infer that Floyd wouldn't be too keen to get in the ring w/RD. This is FMs m.o. I don't even think the fight comes off.

    Pac is a great fighter but he's not a Duran (a high end ATG). Let's see if Pac is competitively fighting top competition in his late 30s ! Doubt it.

    @ 154 Duran wasn't Duran....He was better at the lower weights. I pick Mayweather by UD @ 154
