Both Mayweather and Collazo were pushed to the ropes, Hatton was 155-160 on fight night in these fights, he wasnt small at welter

Duran was just a more skilled fighter than Floyd, and a stronger, tougher, meaner one at that.

The ring wouldn`t be big enough for PBF. At welter, look what Duran did to Leonard. People forget what Duran was like at 135. Leonard had the power and skill to supposedly keep Duran off him. And he couldn`t do it, true he tried to rumble wiht Duran a bit too much. Floyd would have NOTHING to keep Duran off of him. And off the ropes(which is where he would be forced). Duran would take him to school...

Duran, late stoppage. He was simply level or two above Mayweather as a lightweight, and as a fighter in general. Duran would have annihilated the PBF who fought Castillo. Mayweather's defence was great, but defending against a rampant Duran would have been impossible. I expect the referee would stop this one between rounds 8 and 10, rescued Mayweather because of an accumulation of punishment throughout the fight.

    DURAN WINS

Roberto`s outside game is good enough that he wont be out of his depth vs FMJ when boxing from range & dont forget who`s punches will be taking their toll on who the most when they do land as both guys will surely make each other miss plenty.

Duran`s pressure, cutting off the ring, body punches & willingness to put punches together in bunches should be enough to give Floyd a nightmare.

I fully expect Duran to get hit & hit hard but the problem is, I dont see him getting hit with anything thats going to stop him from coming forward & getting into his rhythm by putting unrelenting pressure on Mayweather.

Terrible match-up for Floyd, he`d never take the fight & if he did then he might taste canvas on the way to a pts loss.

DURAN W12 MAYWEATHER (8-3-1) & thats with Floyd taking the 1st 2 rds.

Hatton is not as strong or as explosive as duran AND, more importantly, he doesn't even come CLOSE to durans chin. Hatton gets rocked by the likes of feather fisted Collazo and Mayweather has him seeing stars. Duran took Barkley and Haglers best shots and smiled.

In some areas, yes. And in other areas, no. They are different fighters with different styles, so comparing them isn't fair to a certain degree.

Mayweather was a better counter-puncher, was quicker, more resourceful with his punches, and defensively better when it came to fighting a 'defensive' type of fight. It's hard to see how Duran could implement the same kind of strategy that Mayweather did against Corrales, thus many could claim Duran wasn't as skilled.

Mayweather was without question a better point scorer at long range. His jab, while not outstanding, was better than Duran's. Faster, thrown regularly, and with more variation to the body and head.

It must be said that Mayweather's athleticism helps him over Duran in key areas like lateral movement, unorthdox punches, and speed. Duran boxed at times, but only during patches throughout his career. His workrate was better than Mayweather's, he was equally as intelligent when it came to his own style, and IMO he went to the body better. Offensively he had a wider range of tools inside than Mayweather.

It's like saying "Whitaker was more skilled than Duran" not a fair call in my eyes. It's better comparing Mayweather to someone like Whitaker, and Duran to Chavez and Hatton.

Duran was more skilled than Mayweather.........A matter of taste IMO. Depends what you like.

Any time someone makes the bolded comparison their credibility flies out the window, never to return. All this proves is that you haven't a clue what you're talking about and that your understanding of boxing is as basic as it gets.

No guys like Mike Tyson, Nigel Benn did that not Duran. Duran has been none as a great defensive elusive fighter..

Floyd Mayweather will paint Duran's face black and blue and win by TKO.

    Floyd Mayweather wins..
