It's no shame on Duran to accept that Floyd is a stylistic nightmare for him.If there's one modern era fighter I'd pick to trouble Duran at 135,it's Floyd.
Takes nothing away from his greatness.Just a bad,bad style for Duran.

You can also say the same thing for Floyd.. Duran is a stylistic nightmare for him.. Constant pressure, hits hard and has the ability to endure Floyd's strongest shots.. The same reason why Floyd doesn't want a piece of Margarito.. :deal "STYLISTIC NIGHTMARE"

Because for the record, Floyd Mayweather is not SRL.. :nono

135 or 147 lbs, best versions of both men at those weights... I`d take Duran every single time out, I can understand people that haven`t seen a lot of Duran in his prime & know the result of the 2nd Leonard-Duran fight & the style Leonard used to beat Duran thinking floyd could do likewise but SRL was bigger, hit harder & was a better mover than floyd & as said above, this wasn`t exactly the best Duran at 147.

If floyd runs, he loses by decision... if floyd fights flat-footed & tries to use blocking & parrying to defend vs Duran, hoping to outscore him, he gets stopped, its that simple.

Duran was the best lightweight ever caught on film, you could pick numerous versions of Duran at that weight to put against any version of floyd & it would = a Duran win, comfortably.

Welterweight is a bit different, sometimes Duran was a bit flabby vs lesser opponents like Gonzalez... but we wouldn`t see that version vs floyd, we`d see the Duran that showed up vs Palomino & Leonard... NO version of floyd at any weight beats those versions of Roberto Duran... anybody disagrees with what I`ve just typed ?... your a clueless dumb**** :thumbsup

Floyd is not a stylistic nightmare for Duran sorry, Duran had way more to his game than floyd. Duran was one of the best pure boxers ever. He could box, Brawl, or counter. Hes better than floyd an that isnt a knock on floyd

I never voted because I'm not sure exactly how it goes.I worry that speaking my mind here looks like I'm disparaging Duran when I'm not.I think Floyd at 130 was probably the best version,so to think of this fight at 135 I feel he could give Duran problems.I think of it in a similar way to the Hatton fight(I know Hatton belongs in a different stratosphere so not comparing them) stylistically, but I've no problem with someone offering differing and/or insightful alternative theories.
    All about opinions.:good

At te end of the day none of us are right or wrong lol. I just think floyd didnt have enough to his game for Duran from what the brief stint floyd had at 135

Could you imagine any 135 version of floyd beating the Duran that stopped Dejesus in their 3rd fight ?... floyd would get dominated.

Could you imagine any 147 version of floyd beating the Duran that beat Leonard ?... floyd would get dominated.

The only way floyd gets a win at either weight is if you carefully select certain versions of each guy at the weights (which is not the fairest thing to do)... the best of each guy at the weights is bad news for floyd, its all on video, clear as day.

Example of exaggerating ones greatness... This is what about 50% of all posters do.. Duran wins,ok I can see that, but comments like this show you how much he is put on a pedestal..

    I know.:patsch
Just last few days it's been impossible to give an opinion when it comes to Floyd held up aginst the four kings without my thoughts being totally twisted. This thread seems to be more adult/common sense orientated.:good
