Another dumb post. They never fought anything at all like Floyd when they fought Duran. Thats utter garbage.
As for Hagler vs Duran. Hagler had a style Duran would always look good against plus Duran got in great shape for that one.
And It's not ridiculous at all to think Duran would ko Floyd. You're correct Floyd has never been close to being knocked out which is impressive but hes also never fought a fighter anywhere near close to the skill and ferocity of prime Duran.

Castillo and Maidana I thought proved May would have his arse kicked by Duran down to styles. I can't see how Floyd can outpoint an educated A Grade pressure fighter that was excellent at slipping and countering relentlessly. Cotto, Maidana and De la Hoya can't bring the same level of swarming pressure as Hands Of Stone.

It is ridiculous when has PBF just been dogged in in the ring? When has he shown to have bad chin? The guy has the footwork speed and defense and ring IQ to give Duran fits. We've seen Duran frustrated knocked out and flat out beat in the ring. We haven't seen this with PBF. I'd take my chances with PBF a ATG defensive master not being dogged and stopped by Duran who couldn't do it against lesser fighters, thanks!

Now use that logic with Duran.. He's never fought a fighter on the defensive level of Floyd. EVER. Duran magically got in shape for one fight against Hagler post 135 and said forget the rest of the fights.. Lmao. These excuses kill me.

First PBF was past his best against Maidana he was 36 and still won and PBF was injured going into the JLC fight still won and beat him easily in the immediate rematch so this is irrelevant. What people seem to be forgetting is that Duran lost to lesser fighters than PBF and lesser fighters than PBF went the distance with him as well in his prime.

Maidana was NOT prime Floyd. Why doesn't Floyd get the excuses Duran gets? Floyd was 36 years old against Maidana. Everyone's agenda is clear in this post smh. Saying Maidana is grade A in anything is CRAZY.

He never schooled anything. He played up all of Duran's strengths while down playing all of PBF's. Which is a common theme with Duran apologist.

You have a point here tbh. Benitez was arguably a better defensive boxer than Floyd in areas and vise versa. They are different boxers stylistically though. Duran certainly didn't fight a defensive boxer with as good a shell and roll than Floyd but he fought more elusive movers than Floyd. No, Duran never magically got in shape for just one fight against Hagler post 135 but he did have inconsistencies due to indiscipline between fights.

Sorry Pimp but you received a thorough schooling in that thread. It's ok though, there's levels to this game.

Lets apply some context here. Duran fought in FIVE different decades, and it's safe to say that he wasn't 100% in many of those fights or adequately prepared. When has Floyd not had things his way for fight? Weight, gloves and other BS clauses. A long time in any case. Duran didn't care and thus had inconsistency throughout his career, he also didn't have multi-million dollar training camps.... But at the end of the day when it mattered he usually performed with credit. Lesser fighters than Mayweather may have beat Duran throughout course of his career that spanned through 5 different decades, has Mayweather beaten anyone like SRL though?

Is any talk that isn't idol worship of Mayweather ludicrous to you? Sure as hell seems that way! There's good reason to believe that Duran would have been hell for him... As Maidana and Castillo were. Duran at his best is a lot better than those. Mayweather is no Hearn, Hagler or SRL... Another thing. Duran fought and lost to these guys at their best, Mayweather on the other hand more often than not fought his most well known opponents past their respective peaks(especially in the last 10 years of his career) whether by design or not this is 100% fact.

Duran not being prepared is his fault. Was he not prepared for The DeJesus fight as well? I mean his fans act as if he can do no wrong in his wins and can beat every boxer in history but yet when he loses it's only because he didn't train or wasn't motivated. I'm sick of that. At the end of the day it's an excuses and a flaw. I think stylistically PBF would be hell for Duran given his track record against guys who weren't there to be hit and used movement who had a speed advantage against him. We agree to disagree here. Duran is an ATG but he's far from unbeatable like his fans seem to think he is. I can name a number of boxers who would have beaten him or given him hell.
