This would be a good fight and Quartey would give him a good fight early and the mid rounds, put eventually Duran would be too much and Quartey would fold in the 10th.

Do I think it would be possible for Duran to ever get up for a fight with Quartey like he did with Leonard? Not really.

Duran was still pretty consistent when he was at Welterweight. He got up for Palomino who I think is around the same level as Ike. Duran seemed to lack consistency around The second Leonard fight and after.

...Good point. :good I forgot about his performance against Palamino, he wasn't a one hit wonder at Welterweight.

Quartey's offense was straight down the pike. He had a very good jab but not much variation on it's delivery. Duran would be showing angles and closing speed which Quartey never encountered before. Duran would be dropping right hands over that jab. Quartey was a good fighter and would give a decent account of himself but I see Duran by stoppage around 9.

I'm glad, and a bit shocked that everyone's picking Duran. I agree also, as Natonic said, that right hand over the top of the jab which closes distance was one of the most potent weapons of all time. Quartey was a bit one dimensional and that's not too great when you're in there with Duran, however he's tough as nails and it would be a very good fight to wach, certainly an action one. Duran's inside game is light years ahead of Ike Williams', and the fight would be just there, inside.

Duran too strong and persistant, If Quartly stands and fight it will cost him, if he runs he may survive...Duran by stop
