1) You said they were "mediocre" which they weren't as Dejesus was good enough to beat Duran in the first fight and gave him two other great efforts in the trilogy. Mamby defended a WBC title a few times so he wasn't that bad either. Buchanan was good enough to give Duran fits when they fought and had a win over Carlos Ortiz who was faded but still good. Again, they weren't "mediocre". 2) Hearns is one of the hardest punchers @ 154 and a very accurate one throughout his career who found Duran's chin with the perfect shot. Barkley nailed Duran many times but Duran came back. I also find it funny that you think Chavez "brutalizes" the much taller Hearns though he got decked by Randall at 140, dropped by Tszyu while faded, and stopped by DLH. Hearns would KILL Chavez. 3) I'm just letting you know you're awful. Very "mediocre".
The fight would have it's moments but Duran for me is the more rounded fighter of the two and wins a UD.
Sugar Ray Robinson was overrated. Robinson never beat a prime ATG. SRR beat B and C level mediocres. SRR was dropped by B and C-level boxers Rocky Graziano, Jake Lamotta, Artie Levine, Mitsos Grispos (1-15-3 ko's)atsch, SRR ducked Mexico's Kid Azteca in the 40's, cause he knew Kid Azteca was the most brutal bodypuncher in boxing.
Man this is a close call. Chavez in his prime was a machine and broke his opponents down. I'll take Chavez due to his precision on his combo punching and his chin.
All of them were B level boxers. NOthing special. No one ever mentions them as belonging on the top 100 fighters of all time, because they weren't elite fighters. Barkely was sloppy that night from the opening bell. He wasn't the fast hungry fighter he showed in the past. He gave a "Tyson-Lost-to-BusterDoauglas" performance. Randall was on STEROIDS when he fought Chavez. Chavez broke Randall's ribs during the fight, but Randall's steroids' numbed the pain. Tszyu was young and prime, while Chavez was 90 pro fights and way past his prime. Chavez is a very goog weaver and would get inside Hearn's long arms, and cripple Hearns' body.
Calmado vato you do know that Duran was half Mexican right? So that means you can give him his props, or at least half the props that you do all the other Mexicanos
chill aztecas :smoke I wouldnt have made this thread if chavez winning wasnt a option, just because the general view is that duran is the greatest lightweight therefore beats him, I think chavez really can pull it off, I think duran would win a close decision because I rate his ability slightly higher. Also plenty of people thought barkely won, it was very close.
Aztecas... Throughout this thread you have stated several times, Duran did not beat greats. So tell me, please, which ATG's did Chavez beat?
