Duran , and by a long way , we have to remember how quick Duran really was . I will always like JCC for the nights he put on , but really its not close.

JCC's biggest win - Meldrick Taylor

Durans biggest win - Sugar Ray Leonard.

JCC exposes him as overrated, Duran never saw anything like JCC at LW and his competition at the weight isn't even close to comparable.

yeah, there's the thing. The ONE fight everyone points to, totally ignoring Duran getting getting knocked down and beaten by DeJesus, getting blasted out contemptuously by Hearns, completely outclassed by Benitez, beaten by Laing, outclassed by Leonard in two rematches. That one fight is EVERYTHING to Durantards, nothing that came before or after exists.

Duran by decision in a brutal war of attrition.

Two of my all time favorite fighters. I give the edge to Duran. Incredible punching power at these smaller weights would slow down Chavez attack. Chavez would have to respect Durans power and would thus be out-worked. Duran by decision or late stoppage from cuts. Chavez was quite susceptible to cuts.

Duran by close decision... I think the 1 punch power & size advantage that Duran has is enough to earn him a pts win... make no mistake tho, it could go either way & if Duran doesnt bring his A+ game then Chavez will no doubt win this fight.

    Duran by SD

Anyone that voted KO by either guy is mental.

You are too stupid to realise that after Montreal, Duran had no more mountains he could realistically climb and was very hit and miss thereafter with motivation.

It NEVER ceases to amaze me how so many on this forum know so little about boxing.

Just like JCC was beat by run of the mill fighter Frankie Randall? How he was schooled by the very good yet not great Kostya Tzsyu? Or how he was decided to throw in the towel after getting beat up by Oscar de la Hoya, or when he was slashed to pieces in four?

Both guys campaigned much longer than they should have done at weights too high for them, they where naturally going to come across younger guys who certainly weren't as great as them in the whole context of things and suffer a loss here and there. Doubting either of these guys greatness so flippantly is disrespectful to the point where this sport might not be for you?

Chavez would KO Duran in the later rounds.

Duran was not tough enough to handle Chavez' savvyness.

Chavez was a constant vicious bodypuncher with a granite chin.
Duran had a weaker chin, and could not endure Chavez' onslaught for 12 rounds.

Chavez would break down Duran systematically.

    What he said is true.

Duran fought B and C level comp at 135lbs. The best of the mediocre 135lbers were Edwin Viret, Ray Lampin, both of which are nothing compared to the competition that Chavez faced at 135lbs.

Duran cheated his way with an intentional low blow on Ken Buchanan cause Duran couldnt stop him with legal blows.
Chavez wouldve easily KOd Buchanan, without a low blow (that Duran used).

Duran quit againt Leonard. Chavez would have quit.

Duran was destroyed by Tommy Hearns. Chavez' granite chin wouldve broken Hearns' right hand.

Frankie Randall was on STEROIDS when he fought Chavez. thats how Randall was able to make it to the 12 round with brokn ribs from Chavez' bodyshots.

When Chavez fought tzsyu and DelaHoya, Chavez was past his prime with almost 100 fights on him.
Those 2 "loses" dont mean much.
