for duran to be the outstanding lightweight champ that he was and then step up to beat leonard is exceptional. it would be like marquez (whos not as good as duran) stepping up and beating mayweather (whos not as good as leonard) i have to go with duran everytime. i dont think chavez is the fighter that duran is and couldnt have emulated durans achievements, although im not the most knowledgeable fan and this is purely my humble opinion. Sorry, i know we were not meant to mention mayweather!

Fixed on a factual and grammatical level.

    prime Chavez was unbeatable.
The only way that prime Chavez could be beat, was with Steroids, like Randall used.

You, sir, are an idiot. And it's really not surprising that someone who thinks KT was just a 'good' fighter isn't able to see past the flood of hype that surrounds Duran, especially at LW.

Duran by UD. Duran's prime was 135. He is too much for anyone else at this weight. The only one who would make it interesting would be a prime Whitaker. Duran from 1978 versus Whitaker circa 1988-1990 would have been an exceptional fight.

Buchanan and De Jesus were better than anybody Chavez beat at 135, including Ramirez and Rosario. Duran's resumé at the weight not only has more quality but more depth. Duran was about 117 years old when he lost to Camacho.

Apart from beating a prime, unbeaten Sugar Ray Leonard - far better than anybody Chavez ever beat - at Leonard's best weight and above his own of course.

    How embarassing for you. :rofl

Duran would have been just a little too quick with a little too much movement for Chavez I think.

Saying Dejesus would get beat by JCC everytime is seriously underrating DeJesus. That's like saying LaPorte, who has a controversial loss to JCC, would beat Duran. All I'm gonna say is LW greats like Whitaker, JCC, Benny Leonard, Duran, Mayweather, etc, they were all great, but none was unbeatable. None. They all had their bad nights too.

I'd find more or his threads where he makes Soto out to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world if the post search option wasn't ****ed.

Correction sir. I said "very good fighter" not "good." Explain to me why Tzsyu was a "great" fighter and I might be able to let this **** slide.

Actually he beat a prime a Sugar Ray Leonard in their first fight. So technically he didn't get his "ass seriously whooped in this fight."

But if you're going to play that game with Duran's resume you didn't go onto explain what happened to Chavez when he fought his two all time great fighters, Pernell Whitaker and Oscar de la Hoya.
