It would be a great fight. Probably an inside fight for the most part.

They were both so strong to the body and on the inside. I think Duran was slicker with his head movement and Duran had the quicker hands.

Alot of the things that Chavez did well Duran just did better.

Duran by decision or maybe a late stoppage. Julio was a tough fighter with a great chin but you cant be there for Duran and come out without some serious damage.

chavez for the most part was an in-fighter with a tremendous patented left hook to the body as well as an underrated defense. Duran on the other hand was a whole different story, he pretty much had all the things chavez had but also had a great outside game and had a slight edge in terms of size and punching power. duran takes this in a war of attrition.....:bbb

Arguably the best mythical fight in history.

This would be an all out war from first to last bell, no stoppages, no knockdowns, just pure art & blood of the highest standard.

I feel Duran`s natural size & harder one punch power with either hand gives him the ever so slight edge in a close fight.

As previously mentioned, lots of brutal inside fighting. However, Duran just has a little too much of everything for Chavez to overcome.

Duran should win, but Chavez is tough as nails, and will hold up where others have folded against Roberto.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Duran is made to do a good bit of outboxing down the stretch.

I don't think he has what it takes to discourage a prime Chavez.

He does have the skills to win though...

I think Chavez would have a much better chance at lightweight. Duran was hitting his peak towards the end of his lightweight reign and moving up through lww and ww. Blending a more refined technique and skill with his great physicality and aggression. Arguably some of his best performances were at those weights where as Chavez became a little less dynamic and more workmanlike above lightweight.

    Duran clear decision.
