Roberto Duran vs Keith Thurman at 147 lbs, 15 rounds. Would Duran of the first fight against Sugar Ray Leonard have been way too tough for Thurman of the Danny Garcia fight? Or would have Keith boxed Roberto, defeating him on points?

The Duran that defeated Palomino and Leonard would eat Thurman alive. Thurman would have a size advantage but the difference in skill would be so vast, Thurman couldn't get big enough to overcome it.

Don't see Thurman out boxing Duran, his chance would be to out "athlete" the smaller fighter. Thurman never looked like a good boxer to me, he looked like a fighter who got by on athletic ability. Against a motivated Duran, like the one who fought Leonard I can't see Thurman doing well.

Despite his hand issues, I as well do not see Keith Thurman able to escape a viciously hungry Roberto Hands Of Stone Duran, who out fought Sugar Ray Leonard in Montreal. Duran's boxing ability is years ahead of Keith's and how can he keep a motivated Roberto off of him. I see Duran stopping Thurman by round 10, too many hard body shots by Hands Of Stone is the difference as well as a very quick pace.

Thurman puts on a masterclass of infighting prowess and shocks the world by beating Duran at his own game.

Later that year he'd move up to heavyweight and knock out Muhammad Ali with one punch, shortly after trading hooks with Joe Frazier and out-muscling George Foreman.

God, what a great fighter is 're Keith!

This is pretty much how I see Thurman. His power, decent speed, and fundamentals got him where he was. Never really a good boxer and was pretty one dimensional, his skills wouldn’t be enough to get a win against Duran.

I get it my friend, it was hard to conjure up a dream fight using today's champions or former champions that were non heavyweights.. But I do appreciate the humor in your post. I will think over a more competitive thread.
