In the meantime, once again, I dont need to read an article on the fight. I actually saw it.

Post another one of your posts about somebody knocking out Ali when he was 15 or how Cuevas could not have been shown up in sparring by El Torito because no footage exists of it.

This fight is not in my career set and I am unaware of it being on tape..though I haven't looked into that for a long time...and didn't give it much effort when I did.

 

I said I saw Duran-Tavarez. I never said I hadnt seen it since 1974. My memory is so good of the fight because I watched it while I refuted your comments. Something you obviously havent done despite stating you have seen an "old tape" that you "stumbled upon".

I dont know who the referee was, nor do I care. It means nothing to me. I dont know who the referee was for the Bradley-Pacqiauo fight either and Ive watched that twice in the last week.

If you doubt that Ive seen the fight, or can watch it any time I want:

If you need me to point him out to you, the referee is the guy in the second picture with the white shirt and bowtie counting over Tavarez after he had been dominated and dropped by Duran at the end of the second round.

The first picture is the opening credit of the fight with Duran at the top left, Tavarez at the bottom right, and the referee in the middle (I know the referee is important to you).

The final picture is Leonard in the studio calling the fight for the television replay.

Simply because no film or pictures of Torito and Cuevas exist, or are known to exist, doesnt mean that never happened. That is a poor argument at best.

You state that Tony Sr would have every camera in San Antonio there. Why? You act as if he knew Torito would do well in sparring. What if he had every camera there and Torito got knocked out in 2 seconds?

You seem to be giving Torito an awful lot of respect and a backhanded compliment with your veiled attempt at boosting Cuevas' stock.

 

Since you doubt I know what Im talking about why dont you describe some of Tavarez other fights that youve seen for us.

Dont quote some old newspapers, or magazines. Actually describe the fight as you saw. In fact, describe Tavarez' style to me as you have seen him fight.

Have you ever heard him speak? What did he sound like?

Did you ever see him in real life? Did he speak French? If so did he speak with an accent? Was he intelligent? What was his demeanor and temperment?

Or did you simply read a couple of dusty old magazines and fill in the blanks with your imagination?

You have a flair for digging up old articles and then injecting your imagination in to them as if you were there but you werent and that has gotten painfully obvious the more you post. It is particularly galling when most of your posts are attacks on fighters disguised as attempts to bring to light long forgotten "facts."

 

Reading these kinds of posts really make me wanna see these fights

 

It could be but you know better since youve seen footage of the fight, and know the referee right? I mean, if youve seen the fight why question it? But for people like yourself who havent actually seen the fight:

But if that was Tavarez against someone else why is that Duran fighting Tavarez on top, or next Duran in the corner I said he was in?

Or next Duran acknowledging the crowd after winning? Or those same cornermen with Duran jerseys toweling off Duran?

Or Duran carrying Tavarez around the ring with the same cornermen in the foreground?

And how many cards did Tavarez, and Duran appear on with Billy Backus in Paris?

Now, do you want to admit that Ive obviously seen the fight and you clearly havent? Or would you like to keep up the charade?
