at LW, how would it go? Duran was obviously way more skilled and a better fighter but I read that Jenkins had a right hand that was similar to Hearns in its delivery and shocking power and we all know what Hearns did to Duran (when he was way past prime of course.) Still, Duran was stunned and dropped by lighter hitters at his prime weight (though not often.) And Jenkins did beat good fighters in Ambers and Montgomery. Jenkins had great potential he said he never even trained for the Ambers fight.

Duran would outbox and maybe even KO Jenkins IMO. Armstrong blitzed Jenkins twice and he was similar to LW Duran in style.

I guess the real question am asking is: Does Jenkins have the ability to change the course of the fight with a single punch against a much greater fighter? was Jenkins special enough to land that right hand ala the Hit-man?

The answer according to Jenkins record is: no.

The answer is not very likely! he did manage to beat some atg's around this weight so i would not say it is impossible....but scoring wins over guys like Bobcat Montgomery and Ambers would indicate that at his best he could compete with the best....a longshot at best....but that is still a shot! He was way to inconsistant to call him a live dog...I guess he could put together a top notch night but his inability to sustain that makes it HIGHLY unlikely!

The powerful but crude Jenkins would lack the finesse to deal with Duran, who would stop him much like he did Pipino Cuevas..probably within 6 rounds.
