If Manny uses his speed and gives Duran angles and does not fight Duran's fight he can win this by decision. Manny has that rare great handspeed only a few had like Hearns,Benitez,Leonard, and those guys all beat Duran rather easily. But if you didn't have that great handspeed then Duran would catch up to anyone and control the fights.

 

Duran had handspeed of his own. He showed that to Ray Leonard in Montreal.

What troubled Duran more thant anything during the second half of his career was height, range and lateral movement. Manny does have good foot quickness but he doesnt normanlly use it the way he would need to against Duran. Not that he could even if he tried.

Both Pacquaio and Duran have speed and power. The biggest gap here is Duran`s boxng skills and defense. He was superior to Manny in those departments.

Duran is going to land the cleaner shots and eventually hurt Pacquiao. Duran by TKO

I agree. He would be competitive especially early. He`s a Southpaw and very fast. As the fight went on Duran would start to time him with that righthand.

Duran was a great counterpuncher. I think you might see Pacquiao throw alot less punches than he usually did. When your getting popped it tends to alter your workrate.

 

Yeah, Pac's workrate slowed in the Marquez fight, but Marquez was circling in range and baiting Manny in. Duran certainly has the ring IQ and talent to do so at an even higher level, but would he? Or would he maul and brawl like he did with Leonard? If it's the former, Pac has his moments on the way to a clear loss. But if he tries to brawl with Manny, I think Pac's in and out movement and explosive combos possibly puts Duran down and makes it razor thin.

 

Duran would probably approach it the same way he did DeJesus in their 3rd fight. He did maul with Leonard but I dont think he had the luxery of staying on the outside and trying to time Ray who was bigger and had more range.

 

Palomino Vs Pacquiao is a toss-up IMO. I'd favour Manny, just.
