Roberto Duran vs Manny Pacquiao at WW, Does Manny even stand a chance!?

Manny had the hand speed yes!..But what are the odds he can keep Duran off him. I don't truly believe Manny could really hurt him.

 

Duran had outstanding speed himself. He was like a cat. Not just handspeed but his overall reflexes. His ability to see everything. So many times it looked like he was really being nailed but he was rolling away and taking the steam off of shots.

He was a natural fighter.

Durans speed is underrated..especially at heavier weights..

 

A natural fighter for certain, though he noticably added so much to his repertoire through the years from what he was in the early 70s. As said in another thread, almost a completely different fighter, without any of the ferocity lost. Just an extremely educated pressure fighter; great use of his jab, a mastery of feinting, very economical and effective footwork; ability to slip, roll and counter shots with scary accuracy. He looks as though he doesn't even need to think about it, and putting it together at that type of level is extraordinary. He really was the complete package.

 

But Duran still found a way to knock the **** outa guys at WW..

No, I'm literally stopping just short of declaring him the most skilled fighter I've ever seen on film. What are you talking about? I re-read the post twice just to make sure I wasn't going mad. at there welterweigh primes, this fight would be epic. I believe it would be a fight of the century candidate. Two of the all Warriors of the sport

Duran would be the heavy favourite to win. But Manny is at his best against fighters that come foreward,

Put manny against any of the atg slicksters and i'd pick him to lose. but atg comeforeward fighters, you have to give him a chance.

My prediction would be Duran mid round KO, purely based on better defence and being naturally bigger guy.

They both would have the power to hurt the other though, so you couldn't rule out a Manny stoppage if he landed his bomb 1st.
