:huh:huh:huh Hearns made Duran look stupid and helpless when he had him against the ropes. Now watch Pac bang with Margarito everytime Margarito pinned him against the ropes. At times, he made Margarito bacdafucup. :hi:
Pac would probably try to sign the Duran that had just come off a loss to Camacho.....so by that I'd say Pac would win. Now if we are talking primes Duran would take it, but so would have a few of Pacs last oppenents had they been in their prime lol. (couldn't help it)
And that's why I said PRIME which by your response you wouldn't say was his time in the higher weights.....right?
For even Roach to say Duran would take it I'd go with Roach. Duran had a hell of a chin and most likely would get outboxed for awhile going after Manny, but eventually Duran catches him and they engage in a war. Duran first takes his legs away, then his stamina, and then his speed and power. If Margarito was able to hurt him, Duran would wear him out. Just like Manny had the adv in speed, Roberto had the adv in outmuscling him and he wasn't no slowpoke either. Duran also had one punch KO power in his right. A motivated Duran wins clearly. This ain't no Ricky Hatton!!! Get that through your mind people! He took shots from Hagler now he gets beat by Pacman. I don't think so.
Duran has the skills to give Pacquiao nightmares. Pac had problems with Morales and Marquez, and Duran is better and a harder puncher than both. Duran beats Pac.
Pacquiao is the better offensive boxer while Duran has the better defense. Pacquiao has more hart. Duran has more power. It won't be a boring fight that is for sure. I think this fight is going to come down to rather or not Pacquiao can take Duran's punches. If he can't Duran wins by mid to late round stoppage. If he can take them. I think he will eek out a close decision win.
That's a fairly balanced post, although I don't know about Pac having more heart than Duran, I can only assume that comment is based on the "No Mas" fight as I never seen any other fight this would apply to. But in the final analysis, the real question would be whether or not Pac could take Duran's punches. I personally don't think he could, but IF he could, he could very well win a decisoin.
Did Duran beat Hearns? Did Duran beat Hagler? No? Then why are you bringing them up? Duran got DESTROYED by Hearns, so why are you trying to use that as some kind of boost for Duran? How does Duran getting absolutely and utterly outclassed and destroyed by a welterweight boost his case for welterweight greatness?
Did Hagler destroy him? Did Barkley destroy him, Did Moore destroy him? Did Pac ever fight someone like a Hagler, like a Hearns, or a Barkley? and win..No so the real question is why are you using a fight against Hearns to justify a win for Pac against Duran, when Pac never fought anyone close to the same level as Hearns. For all we know he'd get blasted out too. He could also very well have gotten blasted out against Hagler and Barkley as well. What you're trying to do, is say that because Duran lost to fighters far better and bigger than anyone Pac ever came close to fighting that for some reason that means Pac's comp is better. But in terms of why lossing to these fighters isn't as bad as you're making it out to be..here is a list of where the fighters who Duran lost to stake up on the ATG list. Here's a little perspective on to topic, which you appear to need. The IBRO (International boxing research organization ) has the following list of fighters relivent to this discussion. These are their ATG lists. Lightweights. 1. Benny Leonard 2. Roberto Duran Welterweight 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Sugar Ray Leonard 8. Tommy Hearns Middleweights 6. Marvin Hagler So to be clear here, Duran, beat the 2nd greatest Welterweight in their respective primes and lost to the 8th greatest welterwight ever and went neck and neck with the 6th greatest Middleweight ever, and people have the nerve to say he couldn't fight at the higher weights and his comp sucked. I mean how does one even begin to respond to these ridiculous allegations. Yes he lost some of his fights, but look at the class of fighters he was fighting. Anyway the fact he's rated as the 2nd best lightweight of all time and ranked 6th on the P4P list means at least those who really study the sport have some appreciation for what he did. Those who simply wish to discredit his accomplishments in some misguided attempt to prop up Pac aren't really worthy of respect, if that's the only way they can create a case for Pac. Pac's a great, great fighter in his own right, and if someone wants to make a case for him beating Duran that's fine, but knocking Duran's comp is hardly the way to go about it.
Nobody's discrediting him, they're just looking at the true facts of his career instead of the romanticized image you keep putting up, because you have a thing for his big latin dick. Davey Moore wasn't ready to fight high level fighters, Duran was a full fledged MW by that time and he SHOULD win that fight. Barkley ain't all that either. Duran's ENTIRE rep rests on one fight, with SRL, and SRL made him quit in the rematch and totally and completely outclassed him in the rubbermatch. Benitez outclassed him. Hearns destroyed him, so you can pretty much quit trying to put those guys in his resume. LOSING fights doesn't help your cause. It's hilarious... everyone wants to point to fights Duran LOST, as if that gives him some kind of credit, and ignore the fights Pac WON, against fellow ATG's. Pac would tax his ass worse than DeJesus ever dreamed of, and so would JCC.
Cotto, Clottey and Margo all beat Laing to death without breaking a sweat. Did you forget about Duran losing that fight, or does that just get thrown out because it kills your wood?
I generally respect other posters especially one's that have at least some ability to debate, but I'm done with you, cause you're an idiot, you really and truely are. You're argument now is reduced to you knowing more than the entire boxing community about who's comp is better and displaying overtly you're inability to distinquish junior lightweights such as JMM from welterweights. How pathetic. Anyway, you have virtually no debating skills to speak of and I'm obviously discussing this topic with a child, so there's really no point in continuing. Anyway I'm sure you have a grade 9-10 test to rewrite in the near future so it's best you focus on failing that :hi:
