there would be no fight because emmanuel would hide behind a lawsuit, lawyers, and the judge to sue Robeartoe for saying he ****s emmanuel up
He saw the fight from heaven. From above he clearly saw Marquez stepping on Pac's foot. I'm sure he agrees on the decision. And probably feels people shuld stop crying robbery, it just hurts boxing. :deal
Yeah, actually. Sims at least, given that he was a Middleweight, facing a bloated, years past his best Lightweight.
Guys r smokin crack. Duran was a great great fighter but he makes no easy work of Pacquiao. His style actually plays into Pacquiao's hands a bit. He's a swarmer, and Pacquiao eats those type of fighters for breakfast. But Duran also has good boxing skills and he's hella tough ... ditto for Pacquiao. Bot have great chins and fight to the death. This would have been a WAR. One of the best matchups ever.
Based on wins over Cory Spinks and Mickey Ward? Terrible example. Duran was "mentally stable" for 12 years and over 70 fights, dominating the Lightweight division for as decade before moving up and dismantling both Carlos Palomino (former Welterweight champ) and a prime Ray Leonard. That's when the inconsistency started (before that actually, but I'm not going to nit-pick).
Pacquiao has never faced a swarmer on the elite level that I know of, besides Hatton, who lacked one of the fundamentals of being a great swarmer, which was defensive head movement upon entry. Duran was arguably the best swarmer that ever lived, and even Hatton had Pacquiao backing up and shutting down in spots. Marquez had most success letting Pacquiao fall into him while slipping his punches, then coming back with combinations to the open body and through the open guard. Once Duran had success countering in such a way (which he was capable of), he would be merciless. He would trap Pacquiao far quicker than Pacquiao could change the angle, since he backs up in a straight line when confused on the inside, and he'd maul him. Pacquiao is not comfortable throwing in close, and even if he decided to early out of pure necessity, Duran, as the superior defender and more accurate puncher with one of the most complete offenses ever, would get the better of exchanges. Pacquiao can be competitive by trying his in-and-out circling and explosive, speedy, powerful combinations, but Duran would catch on right quick and was reflexive enough to answer anything Pacquiao throw right away. With his open body, sometimes irresponsible punching habits, and split guard, Duran would eventually time him. It would be war, but not an even match. Duran is the inverse of Marquez; instead of a master counter-puncher who can in spots come forward and punish Pacquiao on the inside, exploiting both offensive and defensive weaknesses, Duran can also rip through those same flaws by being a relentless and precise infighter with the ability to box and counter-punch when it suits him.
Duran at his best had ATG Boxing skills, and defense, He could out box or out brawl Pac, I see Pac getting stopped withing 10 rounds. In a very entertaining fight, but Pac has never faced a fighter on Duran's level, Duran went at it with 3 Top 40 ATG, one of those, was one of the greatest middleweights of all time, Pac won't even fight Martinez at 160
