Duran, a blown up LIGHTWEIGHT, fighting a HW, in his mid-thirties, past his prime, by the looks of his gut he did not even train, and being green in the sport of pro-wrestling. He went the distance with a HW legend and top 3 P4P ATG and it could've gone either way. Tell me one name that could come up from Lightweight(his prime) to HW(past his prime), into a different sport, without training and give the champion all he could handle?

Also how did you score the fight? I feel the 1st was close but Funaki may have edged it. The 2nd was a clear 10-8 to Duran for the knockdown and the 3rd you're splitting hairs to score it one way or another. At best for Funaki, winning rounds 1 and 2, would make it a draw. Under neutral judging i can only see Duran taking this. Or was this the workings of a slit-eyed ricer version of Don King, or the Yakuza? Japanese media claimed he called no mas in the final seconds but ive watched this over 5 times now and at no point do you see him tapping. Even if he did tap, Funaki didnt make him tap, he tapped himself.

Regardless of the outcome, a textbook Duran, phenomenal performance against all the odds. And begs the question, if he was able to pull out this performance at HW in a foreign sport, how would he have fared at HW in his own sport?:think
