He doesn't face adversity because he is too busy cherry picking!

Floyd just does not have the mentality of a James Toney, Roberto Duran ,Pernell Whitaker....

That has to be taken into account for his ATG status. In my view; Floyd ranks in the 30-50 ATG but no more

Montreal Duran is Floyd's worst nightmare. An iron chinned, highly skilled pressure fighter with a high ring IQ that knew how to jab and counterpunch that never stopped coming forward. He wouldn't give 2 shits about Floyd's "0" or who he beat. Clear, clear UD by Duran in a competitive fight where Floyd would try to keep it in the center, but Duran takes Floyds best counters while Duran wobbles Floyds worse than he did Leonard. Bodyshots and pressure too much for Floyd.

Based on what he's accomplished 30-50 range is acceptable but as you said he doesn't have the mind set to fight the very best at their best and that's what keeps him in that range .

Duran is a quitter and you guys say he has a tougher mentality then Floyd?

Do you guys realize how brittle Floyd's hands are and that he might not finish his contract due to them, but he fights through that pain yet Duran quits and gets a pass?

Racism at its finest, racism destroys objectivity.

I will only include the old timers we have enough footage of to judge their skill so I'll leave out the likes of B Leonard and Pep.
This list is on all round technical skill not so much natural talent so don't go off on one because I've not include RJJ or Ali.

Top tier in no real order.

    1. SRR
    2. Pernell Whitaker
    3. Roberto Duran
    5. Kid Gavilan
    6. Jose Naples
    7. Henry Armstrong
    8. Ezzard Charles
    9. Ricardo Lopez
    10. Miguel Canto

2nd tier guy's who nearly make it are- R Leonard, Monzon, JCC, Ali, Hopkins, Sanchez, Gomez, McCallum, Tyson, Hearns, Hagler, Jofre, Ross, Kalambey. Who am I missing :think
It's really hard to make a list. I't was hard to leave Sanchez, JCC and Hagler out the top tier but on another day I might have include them.

For me Mayweather's stick on 2nd tier in terms of all round technical skill. I would place him in the middle of a much bigger second tier. Please don't ask me to do a second tier

If PBF isn't an ATG then no one currently active in the sport is.:deal People like you have no credibility your hate for the man is so great that you can't be taken serious. I'm not a Pac fan but I would never argue than he's not an ATG. I'm not a Wlad fan but I would never argue that he's not the best HW in the world. You see how that works? I can put aside my dislike for a fighter and still give them their due unlike your irrational hate filled ass.

PBF has one of the best resumes in the sport today. BTW PBF's resume is much better than Calzaghe's log off.

Most rank Duran in the top 5-10 range of all time fighters. Those boxing historian's know the outcome of Duran-Leonard II, so you gotta figure had that fight never taken place, Duran may well have ranked very closely to SRR and Greb as the all time greatest. That's just how good Duran was. It was an aberration, from a fighter who fought over 100 fights, and yes it hurts he quite a bit relative to where his ATG ranking would be had that fight never taken place. At the time that fight took place Duran had a 72-1 record, having just beaten a welterweight who's career was in the top 3-4 ever in the division.

:patsch It's not really saying much that Floyd's resume is one of the best in the sport today or that it's better than Calzaghe's. At the end of the day Floyd's resume isn't good enough to place him anywhere near the top ten. A realistic, non fanboy/non hater ATG placement for Floyd would be somewhere between 25 and 50.

While I think much of this is debatable, what Duran does, probably better than any fighter in history, is transition effortlessly from defense to offense and back.

He can throw punches has an uncanny ability to anticipate what's going to come back, avoid most of those, or roll with many of them and come back stronger than ever.

The reason many people don't notice it is because he doesn't back up while he's doing all of this, he's right in front of you waiting to counter.

He also has a granite chin and fists of stone, and is one of the best fainters of all time. These attributes are a deadly combination that ultimately allowed him to beat Barkley who was younger, faster (maybe), stronger, had more power in his punches, and had reach and height advantages that were huge.
