That's a little harsh don't you think. His record is one of the best ever. He beat the 2-3 best welterweight ever, and he went the distance with a middle weight ranked between 1-5 ATG. You'd have to really, really hate the guy to exclude all that at focus on one loss. Even a strange one like that.
Why do you even participate in this discussion. You're stupidity is off the charts. If there's any gulf in skills the balance is the tenacity in which Duran fights and his ability to go from offense to defense and back again. Watch the Moore fight and tell me if Floyd would have done what Duran did to him, then watch the Barkley fight and tell me if Floyd would have even stepped into the ring with that guy, Floyd does have some attributes that are better than Duran, but likewise Duran has attributes Floyd doesn't have, including punching power and the ability to put combinations together, the willingness to trade with a fighter and even get hit if necessary etc.
Harsh, yes. But we BOTH know it's true. It was more than a 'strange loss'. It was unheard of for a great champion like that in a megafight to turn his back and refuse to compete anymore right there in the midst of the round, without going through the typical fakery like having the corner stop it with an 'injury' (like Liston). Only Tyson biting Holyfield is comparable (strange wise) in the past 20 years.
If true means that you really believe this is what Duran is most remembered for, no we both don't know it's true at all. In fact had Duran been merely an average fighter, nobody would even be discussing it.
While no mas is ingrained in Durans legacy, he will be remembered mostly for being an absolute beast of a fighter with serious skills that dominated lightweight before taking on much bigger men..... and great ones at that. When I think of Duran I think of a top tier ATG fighter in legacy and skill. Floyd can but dream of being such a legend.
Lol Davy Moore had 14 fights and you bring that fight up to compare him to Floyd lmao your too dumb for stupid. Are you comparing Davy Moore to money may in skill lmao
He's a quitter Floyd has never quit in the ring, ain't no way in hell a quitter like Duran who showed no heart is greater than Floyd. You keep dreaming a-hole
Not at all. I asked whether or not Floyd would dismantle Moore the way Duran did? That wasn't just a victory, that was a vicious beat down. And regardless of what you think of Moore, his victory over Benitez surpasses anyone Floyd beat.
