I think it will take all Pernell has to hear the judges cards.

Duran on points. Whitaker in his youth was hard to land on

I’d make Duran the slight favorite.

This and Spinks-Foster are 2 of my top mythical matchups between ATGs of a traditional division

Love both fighters but if I had to pick one at their absolute peak I’d choose Duran by highly competitive but convincing decision.

It's hard to imagine a more intriguing Styles matchup. I'll go with Duran but I'm not real confident in that. Whitaker was one of the greatest to ever lace them up.

The irresistible force wins a split decision over the unmoveable object

Even if you think Duran wins (and this is one of the only fights I think I'd possibly pick Sweet Pea to lose), you can't possibly think Duran would stop him..........................Pea is probably one of the toughest to ever lace em up. Even coked out and post prime no one was stopping him.

    Original question:
I think I'd lean towards Duran to win because stylistically he's gonna give the judges more to score. Pernell is gonna give good and will likely clown Duran at times from he outside , but he's gonna lose on the inside. No one Duran's size can beat him on the inside................I personally consider that impossible.

Thinking about it, this really is the first time I've ever picked against Pernell but I believe 135 Duran is top 10 ever.

Pernell is a Top 5-10 modern(post Ali) great
Duran is nr 1, the greatest fighter alive and too big, strong and relentless for Whitaker
