    Could Gonzalez pull the upset?

His record was similar t Alexis Arguello's with 80 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw, 66 by KO..

Depending on when it took place, I think it would have been a fantastic fight. '72 - '73 this would've been something. Up until that time Duran was somewhat the wild child who tore in with reckless abandon, which was the kind of opponent Gonzalez relished. Even money in my eyes at this time. But by '74 - '75, Duran was really starting to come into his own, settling down integrating defense into his repertoire. Moreover, Gonzalez' difficulty in making 135 was never more apparent by this time. Indeed, he had a hard time making the weight against Antonio Puddu. By '74 it would be all Duran. It's a pity we didn't get a chance to see it in '73 when it was being really promoted.
