Duran at either weight. Duran is smoother in the ring, tougher, has better defense, has better offensive variety, hits just as hard, and has ten times Mosley's ring IQ. Not that it would be a blow out. But, there is just no logical argument for Sugar Shane.
I don't see a knockout either. I do believe Duran was the better boxer of the two. Mosley was speedy with his hands but Duran had the better skillset and also had quickness of his own.
Most would pick Duran but I wouldn't be surprised if Shane at his best would use his speed and power to take a points decision .Duran is one of my favorite fighters but I think Mosley would be a very tough fight for Duran.
Sugar to give Duran a tough fight but in the end it's shade s of chavez v camacho. Shane does well in spurts giving Duran good combo s but Duran is just way to much on top of him. And it's Duran s work rate that wins him the Dec
I think this is a war...very tough fight. Duran at his best wins...if he expects to coast, Mosely could run him close or beat him. The pick though is Duran UD.
Mosely was combination of power and speed. After winning title on points he defended the title 8x by ko and was proven throughout his career to have a granite chin. Shane best chance would be to box but inevitably it would end up in a rumble. Shane strength and toughness would prevent him being bullied and overwhelmed. However Duran's skill in the trenches would be the difference. In a brutal battle Duran wins on points.
Agree with the consensus, Duran by decision. Also agree it would be quite hard fought at times, SSM is a top line fighter.
If Shane uses the SRL blueprint of New Orleans, then Shane is in the fight. Plus, people forget Lightweight Shane dished out a brutal body attack, and had speed of foot. In a 12rd fight, Mosley by SD upset. 15 rd fight, Duran by TKO in 14th. ( Ray Lampkin was well in his fight with prime Duran, but ran out of gas at the end and was k.o.'ed.)
