Probably the best win of all times, and certainly Duran has the best win of all the fab 4.

I only watched it once, when it was first on TV back in the day. I recall a very close fight, where Sugar Ray frequently went toe to toe with Duran Duran certainly fought like a man posessed as he usually did, such as in his match with a very inexperienced and half blind Davey Moore, but appearances can be deceiving. As I recall, a poll of sportswriters anvd boxing pundits taken after the fight went unanimously in Leonard's favor by a small margin. I googled but could find no information on that poll.

Great, competitive fight. Leonard wanted to prove he was as macho as Duran and fought Durans fight. Two greats in their prime.

Months later Leopards strategy of waiting until Duran partied his ass off paid dividends. Duran was drained by 24 hr chicas and cervezas and paid the price.

 

This fight was fought on an A+ level for 15 rounds and I swear Duran and Ray could have gone 20.. Best fight from two fighters I ever saw

People say this fight was so good but it didn't look good to me. Ali/Wepner is my choice for the best fight ever because THAT was legendary.
