Roberto Duran vs Vito Antuofermo prime for prime, 160 lbs, 15 rounds.

Awesome slugfest. Vito could certainly go fifteen, and probably even take a card, but he was very cut prone and Roberto was a genius. I'm guessing Duran would take Antuofermo out in 10 or 11 after a truly epic brawl.

 

Duran was of course far more skilled but Vito had the natural size and the stamina. I think I'd favour Duran but Antuofermo was a real rough customer, able to impose his game and his physicality. I wouldn't write him off, he gave Hagler a real tough fight.

 

They're both actually fairly similar, definitely not exactly the same, but both were tough, powerful, high-stamina pressure fighters. The main difference for me, aside from Vito's propensity to cut, is that Duran actually was an excellent boxer as well.

 

Duran wasn't prime at160lbs.

 

I've got Vito nailing Duran and looking the stronger fighter in there. Roberto puts on a good display but Ant bangs his way to a unan.

 

Duran had great defense a great matchup, but even an older Duran beats Vito. Duran did good with Hagler, would also with Vito
